Best Restaurants for Local Ingredients in Plaza / Brookside

This is one of our absolute most favorite places to go! The food and service are always incredible! Scenic seating, perfectly prepared meals and you could not ask for better, more friendly service. Always a 10/10 recommend for us!

Food was great - fun vibe! Chicken picata and kale Caesar with salmon were our favorites!

We arrived at the Blue Bird Bistro early in the evening seating cycle, so we had our pick of tables. Because of the hour, it was pleasantly quiet, making the Blue Bird ambience even better than usual. Our server brought menus and immediately asked if we were attending a (Kauffman Center) theater event following dinner (we were). The pork chop and bison brisket were each prepared, sauced and presented tastefully with wonderful flavors. The same can be said for the cocktails and dessert. The Blue Bird, in its beautifully restored corner building, is a short walk from the Kauffman, which eliminates having to find two parking spaces. The entire experience was very pleasing. We'll be back!

Such a reliable and tasty place for us. Our lunch included tacos which were very well done! Our server was engaging, knowledge and fun!
