Best Restaurants with a Wood Oven in Congress Park

Always a stop for me when I am in town. The service is awesome, food is fantastic and must if you can get a reservation.

This is where stars don't do it justice. The acclaim, from Michelin to, well, everyone else, is totally deserved. Almost all seats are at the counter overlooking the amazing kitchen and chef's working calmly and expertly as they prepare your multi-course prix fixe menu. A stark interior, brutalist, hence the name, could make it noisy but everyone is so in awe of each dish that the sound is normal. Unlike most Michelin starred restaurants around the world, this one feels like Denver in that it's not 'great but stuffy' but rather great, relaxed and friendly. Albeit at a Michelin starred price point.

Kelly was our server and she made the entire experience so enjoyable — super sweet, funny, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She helped guide me toward the perfect dish based on flavor profiles, which I really appreciated. I also learned that the pesto changes regularly, so it’s never exactly the same. I wasn’t obsessed with it the last time I visited, but this version completely impressed me. My boyfriend ordered the pork belly and it was amazing — perfectly crispy on the edges and full of flavor. We started with the burrata salad and honestly wished we ordered more because it was that good. We also had the Wellfleet oysters, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. Kelly coursed everything out perfectly, which made the dinner feel relaxed and seamless from start to finish. It’s also absolutely worth getting a bottle of wine here because they have sommeliers who help you find the perfect pairing for your meal. We’re huge orange wine fans and loved the Orsi Vigneto San Vito “Posca Bianco” — so, so good. Overall, this is easily one of my favorite date night spots in town.
