Poor choices for menu.
Had brunch. Outstanding French toast, bacon and donut. Wife had quinoa bowl, also excellent. Lemonade infused with black charcoal was different and delicious. Service by Briana and staff was polite, helpful, knowledgeable and prompt. Found Kitchen is now at the top of our list when we visit Evanston again.
Our waiter was very attentive. The food was exceptional.
We love this place! We always have a great experience. We were a group of 6. Our server was wonderful. The food was great and I love the ambiance.
Enjoyed the small plates. The atmosphere was good.
Found has been my favorite go to place since it opened. The new decor is just not as interesting or cozy. And the dishes we got were just ok. I'm hoping that they are trying to find their groove with the new menu. I'll be back to try.
Very hood food. Interesting great vibe.
Menu limited to small plates.
We enjoyed the flatbreads very much.
Delicious food. Attentive service. Kind of loud.
I had been to Found many times before with the previous chef, only to be disappointed time after time. I really wanted to love this place because it had great ambiance and I am an Evanston resident. I was looking forward to trying again upon hearing about a new chef. What a wonderful experience! The food was outstanding. I went with a group of friends and we shared the cauliflower, steak, carrots, squash flatbread, chicken thighs and 2 desserts. All the food was amazing, but the stand outs were the carrots and squash flatbread. I will definitely be back!
Nice option for small plates and nice wine. I wish they had more vegetarian options though.
Nice food, nice drinks, nice vibe!
Never fails to delight. Excellent dishes and attentive service.
Found need to find its way. It was once a great hopping spot.
Thought the food was no where what it should be for the price.
Flavors were nothing special...a bit of a disappointment!
Definitely will be back. EVERYTHING was great from food to service to making a reservation to ambiance. It's a gem
If you have a chance to get the special pork chop, do NOT pass it up! Our server tried to claim that this is tapas style dining, suggesting 3-4 items PER PERSON, but that would have been waaaay too much food. We ordered two items each (the pork chop for two, the roasted cauliflower and the beet salad), and that was more than enough food, especially since we ordered the pork chop. Everything was served family-style, and it was fun to share everything.
Too noisy. Pork chop very fatty and practically inedible. Limited menu.
We have been to Found Kitchen many times. We’re big fans! Keep up the good work!
My husband's birthday was why we went to the theatre and walked a couple of blocks to Found Kitchen.
I love the décor, whoever was the interior designer, had great taste.
The food was excellent but sparse. We probably could have had more on our plates, but that was not to be.
We asked for rolls or the equivalent and Todd the server seemed to be a little put off by this. He said he would see what he could do. After awhile they brought over this delicious sliced bread with a great crust.
Needless to say we did a good job on it.
When the bill came we were very surprised to see a $6.00 charge for the bread. Two things came to mind that should have happened, Todd should have told us that there was this charge so we could decide whether we wanted it or not. Also we never got our 15% discount on the check. Perhaps that was my fault because I didn't remind him of it. I did call the restaurant regarding this matter and whoever answered said that someone would call me back. I never got that call.
We had a great meal. Our favorite dishes were the roasted carrots, and the salmon with mushrooms. Delicious! The steak with turnips, fingerlings and chimichurri sauce was lacking flavor and tenderness. Only service complaint (and maybe it’s house policy) is that we had the same small plate to use for all of our courses. It would’ve been nice to have clean ones.
This was our first visit and we invited friends who typically are reluctant to try unusual menus. The Sammy was their choice and they lived them! My husband and I enjoyed our selections equally as well. We had a great Sunday brunch, the Bloody Mary’s, mimosa and wine were excellent and the desserts were outstanding. Our server was more than delightful!! We would go back any time.
Good food in a unique setting with a variety of seating options.
Food was interesting and delicious but from the host to the waiter to the other servers, overall service was sloppy and slow. The prices reflected the high quality of the food, but not the unprofessional service.
Great food and service!
The staff is amazing from the host to the food runners. A+ service!
They took 15 minutes to seat us though we had a reservation, they made us wait another 15 minutes before taking our order, and at that point they informed us that they had run out of ingredients for several dishes and didn’t have any replacements. Our party of 5 had no alternative but to leave the restaurant without eating anything.
Love the fresh new decor, and the assortment of delicious farm-to-table greens, vegetables and unusual preparations. On a Friday night every table was taken, our waitress and bus staff were very attentive and the sound level was vibrant without being so noisy you can't hear your dinner companions. Do get the ginger braised beet salad with the roasted quinoa - the crunch is almost like popcorn! We also had the sapphire salmon, one of the flatbreads and the crispy chicken thighs with chickpeas. Every bite was delicious.
We had a really great time. The food was delicious and our waiter was really nice and helpful. My only small complaint was that the table we were at seemed a little too close to the other tables in our row, so once the place filled up it felt slightly odd eating so close to people we didn't know.
We had an excellent lunch. Our server was attentive & made some excellent selection for our lunch. Food was excellent. We thought the ambiance was especially creative
Acoustics so so; menu fine, a touch limited.
Would go again.
The whole experience was WONDERFUL - and so were the next day leftovers.
We had a really special night! The food and the ambiance was perfect! The customer service was above and beyond. We will back for sure!
Change in atmosphere and drop in food quality. Reduced number of choices on menu.
Excellent food and service! We were visiting Evanston, heard about the place and liked it so much the first time we went there that we returned the next night!
A spontaneous supper to celebrate life and laughter. Delicious drinks set the stage for perfect plates. Try the eggs!
Delicious selections and non intrusive service. Soft lighting and easily able to converse. Great wine selections. I’d go back!!!
The place in general has excellently blended the coziness of a cafe with the ambience of fine dining. Loved it. It felt like a hidden treat just outside Chicago. Great date escape. And our waitress was outstanding.
It was Found but now it has Lost its character. Before it recently reinvented itself it was eclectic, creative, fun, and had excellent dishes and intriguing ambiance. Now it is good but not great with a staff sloppily dressed in a manner more suitable for a two bit diner. Not to disparage two bit diners. I love them. But Found is not a diner and does not have diner prices. It’s not what it used to be.
