Found Kitchen and Social House
Reservations are accepted and spontaneous dining is encouraged! Much of our dining room is held open for walk-ins. Please feel free to walk-in anytime.
Excellent food and creative drinks, the vegetarian dishes in particular are fantastic. Highly recommend the sweet potato flatbread and the kale salad!! My carnivore husband has discovered his love of creative and flavorful vegetarian dishes at Found, we have been here multiple times.
So glad we finally found this wonderful restaurant.
Nice place to have dinner, but it was not as good as I remembered it from a previous visit. Food was good, but a little expensive for the amount/size of the dishes. Bread that was ordered first and seems like the easiest item to make came after a few other dishes, there was a mistake on the bill with a charge for something we didn't order and took a while to find our waiter to sort it out.
Amazing experience! A very romantic place with good prices and very good food. One of the best restaurants in Evanston, if not the best.
If your in Evanston this is definetely a place we’re you can get a really good meal. Layered and complex flavors in most of the dishes. Great mix of people.
Cozy, quirky, comfy
Another great evening at Found. Ambience and service wonderful, and food really good. Only bummer was our order of farm steak—it was really tough. But every other order, including wine, was 5 star!!
Will be back!
One of the best places in the burbs. Great drinks, comfortable and stylish setting; food is great.
It was OK, but nothing to write home to Mom about. The menu is fairly limited and a touch trendy, so my wife found herself ordering things that she would otherwise not order. I liked the beet salad and the lamb meatballs. The special grilled sirloin was tender enough for that cut, but the flavor was a little unremarkable. If I were to go again, I would try the salmon to see if fish was where their gifts lie. We had a nice table away from others and our waitress was excellent and helpful. Win selection a little underwhelming, but it isn't really a wine place.
I love Found. The food is great and the service is attentive and friendly, but I love the ambiance most of all. We sat back in the library, which is cozy and comfortable.
I always enjoy Found, the kitchen is wonderful, the staff knowledgeable, the food well-prepared, but I'm not fond of the recent re-model. Tables are on top of one another and the interior design has lost some of it comfy, eclectic vibe. And the music got weird/distracting.
Delicious food. Wonderful service- friendly and attentive but not overwhelming. Lovely place.
Great food and drinks/relaxing setting
I would definitely recommend Found for a drink and/or dinner. It is a wonderful space, with exceptional food and the service is always great. The vegetarian options are usually plentiful and usually there is one fish option available for non meat eaters. The wine and beer selection are also great.
We were there on Burlesque night, which is fun. The stage and the room in general are not very conducive for this type of entertainment, so you will be a bit cramped.
A new spot for me and I was very impressed. The food was good and the drinks was the best!
Fabulous dining experience in every way. Especially loved the steak and polenta
I used to love.Found. Now it seems the quality of the food and the service has gone downhill unfortunately. Still had a nice vibe but the service was slow some of the dishes were good but most were only fair...
Great food, slow waitstaff.
Had a great lunch trying Found for the first time. Made a reservation and was seated almost immediately. Menu selections were great and nice portions for lunch. My biggest complaint was the plates they served the lunch salads on, they are very tiny and the salads heap to the edges -- made eating them and trying to keep all the salad on the plate difficult. Both myself and my guest had spilled half the salads all over the table during lunch -- might recommend plates with a bigger brim. Food was good though and would recommend.
The ambiance is edgy and wait staff is attentive and accommodating. Some of the dishes (like the halloumi and the mushroom toast) were a bit bland. Deviled eggs were delicious, as was the chocolate pot de creme. Ambiance is nice, but it's a bit loud. Wines are good but wish they had more light, and less expensive, red options.
Our special night out was enhanced but excellent service from Dan and a surprise whiskey tasting set up. The special of the night was sirloin steak over arugula which we shared and a tasty kale mixed salad. Espresso and dessert finished off the night. Try this restaurant if you haven't done so.
Excellent as always! Had a good business lunch. The food is great.
Extremely small drinks. See photo of martini and an on the rocks as served. Looked like bartender was using the shorter side of the pour cup.
Tasteless pasta, very little lamb on the flatbread. Burger was good as well as server. The changed menu was a disappointment
We had a really lovely time and in large part due to the superb service from our waiter. We were having such a wonderful time that we didn’t realize we were the last customers—no one rushed us out and they were so nice when we apologized for overstaying! A very memorable night—great food, perfect atmosphere and the best service!
Did a pre-fixe meal for NYE with friends. Most of the dishes were excellent, some were just okay. The ambience and location was great, but unfortunately the service was very slow/lacking. Looks like a great place to throw a party or event though.
Food was good, except some of the dishes were cold. At times the service was slow
Overall good experience. Really enjoyed the food, cocktails, and the funky vibe of the decor. The Havana theme for NYE was fun. Service was a little choppy with long waits between drink refills and some courses being served complete to everyone at the table. We were not in a hurry, so it was not an issue. Only noting this in case you were booking prior to a show; it would be good to let them know in advance.
The service was terrible. The waiters stood around talking while we waited numerous times for drinks and our food. The food was all pre-plated, cold and my pork was raw. My glass of wine was a half poor for $15 three times. Our bill for three people was charged the price fixed menu cost of four people. When asked to change it the bill came back incorrectly again. The crazy thing about this terrible experience was that the restaurant was not even crowded. As an Evanston resident who has eaten at the restaurant numerous times I want it to succeed. I am very aware that dinner out on a special occasion can be hit or miss. This meal was a disaster. Feel free to have Amy Mortan call me if she wants feedback. Bill Swales 773-255-3412 cell
In town for NYE, Havana themed prefix was wonderful, plenty to share. The short ribs were fantastic; tender and flavorful! Noce lighting, a little noisy. Overall would recommend.
The steak was a bit tough but everything else was awesome
The service was awful. The host tried to make up for it but it just didn’t cut it.
Waiter was a MIA at times but overall a good experience.
Brought the family there for a birthday dinner and we loved it! Food and service were great and the updated decor looks eclectic and fantastic.
Just a first class dinner. Perfect great.
Warm an excellent stagfh
Very much enjoyed our lunch. Great place to meet & catch up
I have not been to Found in a while and heard they have a new chef. The new menu is not up to the same standard as in the past and all of my favorites are gone. Was with a group of friends and we ordered lots of things so we could try a variety of items. Choices were not exciting and food was good but not great. Nothing that I would crave to have a again. Atmosphere is way less cozy than it use to be. Not impressed with the changes.
Our server was outstanding. He provided great suggestions and details about and for our selections.
Friendly atmosphere and great candelabra!
The menu was confusing but everything we had was excellent. It was a different dining experience. Fun though.
Not sure why people rave about this place. I have been here 3 times and I kept coming back wanting to like. No more. The experience is pleasant and the service is good. The food is just not very good. It all sounds great on the menu but the execution is just not there. Brussels sprouts were mushy. Deviled eggs had too much mustard. Braised lamb flatbread just didn’t come together. There are so many better places in Evanston.
LOVE Found Kitchen! Food is consistently outstanding - also very inventive. The place has an awesome, 'happening' vibe - it's always very busy, but yet not overly loud (something to which I'm sensitive). It can be a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it, relatively speaking.
