About

The Gurkha Grill Nepalese restaurant in West Didsbury, is one of Manchester’s best-kept secrets and is a specialises in Nepalese and Indian cuisine. With a high reputation for culinary excellence in Nepalese and Indian cuisine, the Gurkha Grill restaurant has its own distinctive taste, with home-made Nepalese and Indian spices added to the traditional Indian and Nepalese dishes. Giving the Gurkha Grill's menu a unique taste compared to the more traditional Indian or Nepalese menus, and other restaurants in the Manchester area. The Gurkha (as it's known by the regulars) has recently been given a face-lift, with new décor and booth style seating areas, and more covers due to the popularity of the restaurant. The new look has given the restaurant more room and a modern look and feel, by blending the traditional with the modern look.
Even with the expansion, new features and décor, the restaurant still keeps its friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic service, attentive without being intrusive and the food was great. Enjoyed the Nepalese lager.

We have been dining at the Gurkha grill for 15 years, it used to be, a very friendly, cosy Nepalese restaurant, a single room for a maximum of 30 diners. The food was delicious and very different, Nepalese food that just could t be found anywhere else close by.
Unfortunately it has now become just another clone curry house. The food is nothing special, and it offers the same dishes you can get at every other curry house, and doesn't do those dishes very well.

This was my third visit. There was only one couple dining there so it was very quiet perhaps because it was midweek. So our party of 4 increased total numbers to 6 people. Everyone in my party of 4 enjoyed the foods and service.

Momo dumplings are great, plump, well packed, accompanied by superb sauces. My river cobbler fish was lovely, well cooked, appropriately spiced and delicious. The nan bread was good too.

Give it a go. But be warned when they say "hot" it is very hot so goodness only knows how how the "very hot" is. A truly fabulous experience. The daal is the best I've ever had and goes well with any dish but you will be glad of it if you go for something warmer.

Excellent Food and very good value. Menu a little different from the normal "curry" and very interesting dishes. Served very hot and tasted delicious.
