Food was scrumptious - fresh and flavourful. For starters, I had a salad with berries and my husband had the dynamite role. For mains I had sockeye salmon with basil sauce and my husband had a filet. The portions seemed larger than I remembered which was great! This restaurant is the only one I know of that offers both salmon and halibut. Our server was great. She was just the right amount of attentiveness. When I made the reservation, I asked for a booth and we got one which made dinner even more quiet and intimate. The view of course is fantastic - Okanagan Lake and mountains.

Worst steak ever from my friend who also said he loved garlic mashed potatoes but they had so much garlic in them he couldn’t eat them, the mushroom rotini was luke warm and sitting in oily sauce. It was very loud in there also. Not a good experience, I opted to take my friends from out of town and country there over Elma and was disappointed to say the least.

We arrived for an 8:30pm reservation, it wasn't too busy as most people were getting their bills at that point. We waited 20 min before asking at the bar if we had a server, because no one had come to greet us, bring waters, or take a drink order. About another 7-8 min before someone finally came to take our order. Appies and drinks arrived pretty quickly, the carpaccio was tasty, but the avocado roll didn't contain much avocado, it was mostly cucumber and carrot. I ordered the seafood linguine which arrived shortly after, but unfortunately the pasta was so overcooked that it immediately broke while I was trying to twirl it and was mush in my mouth. It was inedible, but given the late hour, I just ate the seafood and left the pasta. My husband liked his seared tuna meal, and the kids liked their burger and pizza. The server and supervisor apologized and discounted the meal but all in all I was not impressed. The view and ambience is lovely but I won't be back.

We had reservations, though we didn't expect to sit outside. We were lucky to sit out on the deck, and the weather was perfect—not too hot. This is not our first time dining here; the food and service were wonderful. There was live entertainment at the resort next door so we were well entertained. We will be back.

Food did not look appealing and it did not taste great. Dynamite rolls were not fresh and the calamari was too salty and the dip didn’t even look like it was avocado.the colour was orange ???. Our Cesar drinks were also tasteless.

Waited about 40 minutes for food which I can accept but when my burger came, the patty is totally burned and hard like rock. Told the server had redone. I had to eat my boyfriend's dish which was not bad and wait for my burger. The burger finally came after we finished the other main and waited so long again, and it's still over cooked. I naturally don't like complaining about food about food at restaurants and just kept it. I thought they would come apologize at the end but till we got the bill not a word like they don't care. Very disappointed.

The ‘Merganser’ is one of our go to restaurants when we vacation in Penticton. The atmosphere is nice and the location on the Okanagan lakeshore is beautiful Our server, Wendy, and was friendly & efficient, making certain that my wife’s severe food allergies were noted by the kitchen so that there were no issues. She took time to laugh & chat with us and made our dining experience very enjoyable.

Service was very good, food was mediocre. I ordered the blacken chicken and the chicken was so thin and over cooked it was hard to choke down. My husband had the fish and chips and said it was good.

We waited over an hour and a half for our food. We asked our server when our food would be here, but she had no clue. Overall very disappointed with the service and the food. We thought from waiting over an hour and a half they would do something for us but we didn’t get anything taken off our bill. The food for the price was very bland. Very disappointing
