Il Terrazzo Carmine
Il Terrazzo Carmine is located in historic Pioneer Square - nestled in an urban-renewed alley with entrances through the vintage lobby on First Avenue or through the delightful courtyard in the back. Since 1984, Carmine Smeraldo's classic Italian restaurant has been where the locals have chosen to return over and over again. From the Carpaccio Di Bue and Spaghettini Dell 'Ortolano for lunch to the Suprema Di Pollo Farcita and Zuppa Di Pesce for dinner you will know you have gone to a place where excellence is a way of life. Arguably the best Italian restaurant in Seattle, Il Terrazzo serves classical Italian cuisine with an atmosphere you may want to call home and never leave

Delicious food, beautiful setting, excellent service
We enjoyed a birthday and all the staff helped make it an excellent celebration
Maybe our favorite Seattle restaurant. We have been there at least 10 times over the last 20 years. Just seems to get better and better. Our meal this time was perfect and so was the service. Great variety on the menu, all the Italian classics plus many creative dishes.
Our favorite downtown restaurant. Always impeccable food and service.
Great for a special occasion. Prices on restaurant and open table sites less than actual.
Great in every respect. From the parking to the dessert there is a wonderful ambience to Il Terrazzo
Perfect, as always. My favorite restaurant anywhere.
Fabulous treat to eat here. The delicious food, the impeccable service and cozy setting made for a wonderful evening.
We went to celebrate the birthday of a friend and it could not have been more celebratory! John, our server, was absolutely wonderful and added so much to the festivities. We loved the food (calamari to start, and two different kinds of pasta). My favorite restaurant in Seattle!
Wonderful food, lovely space. In summer, the outdoor dining space is a good option.
Lunch with friend
It was our anniversary. Never considered celebrating anywhere else.
Beautiful restaurant. Clean. Service quick. Had reservations. Owner is friendly, sincere and cares about their customers. Family owned.
Food was absolutely delicious! Service was great. Ambience was perfect for a date night.
Had ‘t been there for a while since we go to Carmine’s in Bellevue more often. The food was amazing starting with the Caprese Salad! Kathy is THE best server!!!
Always excellent. I had the duck and it was perfectly cooked. My wife loved the halibut cheeks. We shared a salad and pasta to start and left feeling full and happy with the excellent food and excellent service. A little pricier than other restaurants in the area but frankly worth the additional cost.
Our third visit to Il Terrazzo Carmine was not up to the standard of our previous experiences. The service was competent but not as gracious as usual. Poor parking information created a situation with our out-of-town guests that started the evening off awkwardly. Both the specials description & the dessert offerings were described clumsily and with little flair. The food was excellent as always, but we missed the elegance of past meals.
Great service from the wait staff
Hostess was the best. Waiter was very solid as well. The support staff was courteous and prompt with water fill-ups and anything else we requested. The food was very good, maybe a touch pricey. We intend to return and try additional items off the menu. We also intend to suggest it to our friends.
Salmon under cooked
Service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the pork chop, it was cooked perfectly.
As ever, a pleasure to dine at Carmine’s.
This was our second time having dinner here. Both times the food was delicious, wait staff was outstanding and the environment was perfect. The restaurant had a good buzz to it and you could still have a conversation with folks at the table without feeling like you had to yell. Food was fresh, flavorful and the portion size fills you up and wanting just a bit more. This is quickly becoming a favorite go to location.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Just visiting Seattle this time, but will be back and certainly eat at Il Terrazzo Carmine our next visit to Seattle.
Had the weather been a bit warmer, I would have loved to sit outside on Carmine's inviting deck. But dining inside was wonderful and pleasantly quiet that night. We ordered salads, pasta and dessert and enjoyed it all.
Good food and wine -- nice place for a special dinner.
It was our first time there and we were recommended by a friend. We enjoyed the ambience, food, and how attentive our server was. My boyfriend had a wonderful birthday dinner there. We can’t wait to go back!
Food was excellent. Service was as well until we received the bill and noted that we were served other than the wine we ordered. The wine served was $155. The wine ordered, $70. Both from the same small section of the wine list. We adjusted the tip to align with the $70, but made no further fuss after bringing it to Tyee waiters attention. Upon further reflection, we question the error was a mistake. We think he decided we "needed" a different selection. This is our favorite restaurant in Seattle. This was an unforgettable experience. The fist that either my wife or I have ever experienced anywhere in the world over many decades of travel globally. Most upsetting. More than the $85 difference. We feel like we were scammed.
Food was good. I like the way they have smaller portion sizes or full size on menu
We came to Il Terrazzo Carmine for our anniversary and they treated us to nicely. Great service, great food, great overall experience. I had the crab and shrimp ravioli with lobster sauce - excellent!
Absolutely lovely, peaceful, reliable spot for a special lunch, a bit old school but in all the right ways. The waiter was excellent, the food ample and tasty, our friend visiting briefly on his way from Portland to the San Juans with a brief stop at King Street Station was delighted with the meal and ambience. It is very convenient to the transportation hubs in Pioneer Square/the ID, parking turned out to be easy even on the street during the day (no games on), and we could not have been more pleased.
Wonderful waiter. Good very good. Do not miss ceasar salad or cauliflower gratinee soup. Well worth the visit.
Always fantastic. Best Italian restaurant west of NYC and north of SF. Elegant but not pretentious. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. We go every time we visit Seattle without fail.
Il Terrazzo Carmine offers both impeccable service and wonderful food. Our last night in Seattle culd not have been better spent!
Il Terrazzo is our favorite restaurant. Best Italian food in the Puget Sound region! The service from Mido was exceptional. His knowledge of the ingredients, preparation and wines were very impressive and he was correct every step of the way. Can't keep us from coming back again and again!
Parking garage location is wrong on Open table.
Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. It is as close as I have come to some of the experiences that I've had in European restaurants. It is clear that the wait staff really enjoys their jobs and they go out of their way to provde individual attention. The food is amazing. I had tuna tatare the last time as an appetizer (it was a special)...it was so well done and balanced that I could have eaten it for every course.
The best food for Italian meal in the area. The restaurant is amazing. Best service as well. The wine list is great. If you like authentic Italian. You must go here.
