📍Ju Lan Club ( @juelankitchen ) | 49 W 20th St, New York, NY 10011 . This was my first time at Ju Lan Club and i will say the food is pretty good (this is based on the RW menu). The music selection was on point though it was a bit loud, the staff was attentive and the drinks could have been a bit stronger for the price but I will be back because of my fave dishes: the pow pow beef (filet mignon) which was very juicy and prepared perfectly and the chicken wontons were my favorite app, I could have eaten the whole plate by myself lol . Be sure to make reservations as it can get packed towards 7/8pm. . NYC WINTER RESTAURANT WEEK (ending Feb 4th): Dinner $45 for Three Courses Appetizers: 🍴Crispy Rock Shrimp Tempura Spicy Mayo, Cilantro 🍴Vegetable Spring Rolls Soy Vinegar Dipping Sauce 🍴Crispy Chicken Wontons Sweet Chili Sauce Entrees: 🍴 Brown Sauce Slow Cooked Glazed Salmon Asian Teriyaki Sauce, Broccoli 🍴 Pow Pow Beef Tender Filet Mignon Cubes, Sweet Onion Sauce Dessert 🍴Chocolate Lava Cake Leche Sauce, Vanilla Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Pearls 🍴Everyday’s Your Birthday Cake Creamy Vanilla Frosting, Raspberry Sauce, Vanilla Ice Cream

I recommend spring rolls & chicken wontons for appetizers and beijing chicken and shrimp lo mein for entrees if you're dining for restaurant week. Didn't love the desserts. The restaurant was quite muggy due to an AC issue the day I went.

The food was very poor quality, especially for the price. The salmon tasted like it was cooked a week prior. The music was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. Our server rarely checked on us, and when we stated that we did not enjoy the salmon he did/said nothing.

Apps and entrees came out at same time. Food was delicious like usual but service was slow and they never offered refills. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 desserts with only 1 other table there at the restaurant.

We came here for a Saturday night dinner with family, expecting a great meal. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, spicy beef, and chicken fried rice. The Kung Pao Chicken tasted more like sweet and sour chicken with a few peanuts sprinkled on top than a traditional Kung Pao dish. The chicken itself also didn’t seem very fresh. The spicy beef was also unexpectedly sweet and lacked the bold, savory flavors you would expect. The only dish we enjoyed was the chicken fried rice, which was well prepared and flavorful. Given the restaurant’s premium pricing , I expected food that matched the experience. Instead, the dishes felt mediocre and lacked the authentic flavors you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. I’ve had much better Chinese food at many other restaurants in NYC, often at a fraction of the price. While the ambiance is good, the food simply didn’t justify the cost, and I don’t see myself returning.
