K Rico South American Steakhouse
John & Tommy prepped for the opening of this unique steakhouse with a South American flair. The brothers trekked through Chile, Argentina, Peru researching local fare, the wealth of which has been applied to K Rico’s menu.
Serving USDA Prime Meat in a contemporary ambiance, K Rico also vaunts an outdoor patio with al fresco dining. A full service bar extends through the venue. A semi-private dining area affords intimacy. Seafood is also at hand. Folks rave over the Salmon with Saffron Sauce and much as they extol the Tomahawk Steak. Memorable service has rendered it a top-rated Steakhouse, well-illustrated in the reviews it continues to garner.
Located in Hell’s Kitchen, it is minutes from Times Square/Broadway Theaters. And that the kitchen stays open till 12am is a plus.

After reading reviews, we thought it would be reasonably priced, we didn’t agree with this. With being gluten free I didn’t think I needed to mention it as I was ordering something normally gluten free, but my sweet potato mash come with fried onions on, which wasn’t gluten free
One quick suggestion to improve the bad experience would be for the staff not to show their stress, minimize the back and fourth and hectic moves around customers. It just felt very stressful — and felt like we were on a sinking cruise liner.
Food was good but not great.
Amazing food, great ambience and a relative bargain considering both the excellent service and the quality of the dishes. Has now become one of our favorites
Wonderful meal here for my birthday with some of the best steak we've eaten. Lovely place with great staff and atmosphere, just a little expensive.
We went at 5:00 due to an early show so it was very quiet. We sat in the back garden which was lovely. We split a large steak which really helped keep the price down. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The steak and sides were very good. Very good pre-theater dinner.
We have enjoyed dining at K-Rico on many occasions, and this last one did not disappoint. The restaurant is nicely appointed, with white tablecloths, and it is well located in Hell's Kitchen. Service is professional and very friendly. The food, while a bit on the expensive side, is absolutely delicious. I have previously enjoyed the skirt steak (excellent chimichurri), and my husband and I loved the porterhouse for two people (be sure to say yes when they offer freshly grated horseradish!). This last time, we had the mixed parillada grill. It was a fantastic selection of grilled meats and sausages, with more than enough for two people (we took home a lot). Highly recommended.
This was a fantastic choice for a family anniversary dinner. The steaks are to die for and the service was spot on. Expensive but well worth it for a special occasion. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience overall!!!
Absolutely loved this place, food was amazing, service was excellent and restaurant is very nice. I will definitely be returning again!
I went to this restaurant yesterday and wrote a rave review. In fact it was so good I took all my family there the following evening so that I could brag about how wonderful it was!
Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable (so important at a Brazillian style steak house! So. Much. 🥩🥩🥩) Food was fabulous. Cocktails a delight. It is NYC, so don't expect to get out of there inexpensively if you order any of their giant cuts of beef.
Awesome cute, great presentation, top-notch service. Thank you Marco!
We went expecting an excellent South American steak and it wasn’t what we got. The restaurant said the meat was dry aged for 7 weeks and what we got, the porterhouse was not what we were shown. The steak was sliced wrong, tough to chew and seemed smaller than what we were shown. We were not even shown the Tomahawk, which another table next to us was shown. We took a middle piece of steak and it was unchewable. The side which should have been a full side, was less than we thought it should have been at a steakhouse. While there was always someone around to service the table, even clearing the table was choppy, as they were stopping at multiple tables and stacking our old plates with another tables plates. My wife actually made a comment when it happened. Overall, disappointed that this expensive meal was so lacking.
Always love coming to this delicious steakhouse. 5 stars. Drinks, entrees, and dessert...are simply fantastic.
From the moment of arrival to the end service was excellent... our waiter, Fernando, was very attentive. He presented the steaks and explained their aging process..at least 7 weeks. He recommended the NY Strip, (16 oz.) Which was perfectly cooked to medium temperature. It came on a sizzling hot skillet...which helped maintain the temperature of the meat. My girlfriend and her daughter ordered Parillada, which was equally delicious and plentiful...definitely enough for 3 people to share... we ordered guacamole as an appetizer, which was very fresh and came in three varieties...from mild to spicy..which were all equally scrumptious. Finally, the owner/chef came out to speak with us to ask about our meal and experience and also described his meat sourcing process..in Wyoming. I was extremely impressed by the overall experience and recommend it highly...
I chose this place by checking the reviews. I agree that the waiter was very helpful and not pushy. Most of my guest ordered steaks and I ordered cordiva fish. We shared octopus and guacamole. For desserts we ordered a cake with coconut, strawberry cheesecake and creme brûlée. All delicious. Definitely recommend
We needed a place to have a pre-Broadway show dinner, and K Rico not only had the food we were craving but the South American (mostly Peruvian) twist made it all the more intriguing. From the moment we walked in the door, we received almost nonstop attention from making sure we had the drinks the wanted, ordering appetizers, waiting for the final member of our party, etc.
They brought out a meat cart to showcase the GENEROUS cuts of beef they offered. Tonight they also had bison, which sorely tempted me. Normally I would have gone for the 14 oz filet but the NY strip steak looked too good to pass up. Others in my party ordered the skirt steak, and one ordered a fried seafood platter from the appetizer menu as her meal. I had the broiled oysters which were delicious and perfectly cooked.
Our steaks were prepared perfectly as ordered. The quality of meat here is high, and the fat in the NY strip melted into the meat which doesn’t always happen. We ordered and shared sides: mashed cauliflower (rich, creamy...better than potatoes!), steamed broccoli and cauliflower (yum), and sautéed Brussel sprouts with bacon (SO GOOD). The meal was filling and the staff kept our glasses full. The chef even came to our table to see how we liked our food. I noticed he did this with every table which was a really nice touch.
We were finished in time to get to the theatre, and it seemed like the whole staff thanked us for coming in on our way out. What a great, and filling meal! I would definitely come here again, and recommend it to anyone wanting a great steak before a show.
Great service and food. Exceptional team that welcomes you like loved family. Looking forward to my next visit.
We ate everything other than porc , because we are muslim, meats were delicious, the only problem nobody brought us picanha to eat, we chose your restaurant special to eat picanha, maybe in other time.
Excellent food, great service, seating in the patio was not an option when I made the reservation which would've been better if I would've known but overall, the restaurant gets a thumbs up, I'll be going up, the latin touch is definitely a plus
Spettacolare. Personale gentile e simpatico carne ottima
Nice restaurant with great service. The ambiance was quiet with nice decor. We both ordered the 16oz Ny Strip Sirloin. They were both cooked to perfection with delicious side dishes. The fries were delicious too. Wil definitely return on our next trip to NY.
The food was amazing & the drinks. I will def come back everything was cooked how we wanted it.
Service great ambiance great!
Beautiful outdoor patio, lovely meal and great service.
Amazing steakhouse with a great South American twist to enhance the quality and authenticity!!
One of the best meals I have ever had. My friends and I were in NY for a few days from London and decided to go to this steakhouse for my 21st birthday. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Tommy who was very friendly and we felt welcome straight away. The atmosphere and vibe we experienced was fantastic. The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was incredible. Cannot speak about this place highly enough and I would recommend to anyone coming to NY to come to this restaurant.
Great meat. Spectacular service by Benjamin. Great experience. Too expensive. Expected a expensive place, considering the venue and the quality. But it was beyond expected.
Steakhouse of the city!
Trip to NYC with my son
We loved our meal at K Rico. The service (especially Javier, our waiter) couldn't have been better. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Checking on us frequently to make sure everything was perfect. We had the porterhouse steak and it was excellent. Side dishes and appetizers are delicious and different. It was a great night. Would recommend this steak restaurant for sure. One of the best in NYC .
My favorite steakhouse when in Midtown West
We throughly enjoyed the food and service. The owner was a delight to speak with & the staff was very on top of things. Constantly checking on our table. If we lived in NY we would be regulars!
Friendly place and amazing food. Best empanadas I’ve ever had. Steak was sublime. Can’t wait to go again!
Food was fresh, tasty, and nuanced. Adam was a a smart, interactive, and intuitive bartender/server. Highly recommended!
A regular stop for us & fantastic - as always - keep up the great job being done by all the team!!!
Very friendly and decent food ... best if you love steak
Our favorite meal of the trip and definitely a top five all time. Terrific food and service. We had 3 appetizers and loved each one. The guacamole trio was terrific as each of the 3 guacamole bowls were completely different from each other. Very interesting and served with plantains (we think that is what they were). The hot cheese queso was top notch and served with fresh chips. We had 3 Filet Mignon dinners, one was ordered Rare, one Medium-Rare and one Medium along with a large Ribeye on the bone. Each piece of meat was served at the correct temperature and the flavors were the best. We ordered five sides to go with the entrees but we did not need that many sides as there was too much food. But...because we had not finished the current bottle of wine, we each had a dessert and grapa. The desserts were finished completely as they were too good to leave any behind. The creme brulee and chocolate domes were equally good. Our favorite grapa of the 3 types was the barolo. One person in our group said that this was her best meal of her life and that nothing has ever come close to matching this restaurant. Thanks! The owner, Tommy, stopped by and talked with us and we let him know that he has a terrific restaurant! Our waiter Marco was a veteran who knows what he is doing and knows how to do it well. By the way, when we were served there were five people serving us (one person was grating fresh horseradish for our steaks).
Selected based on Tripadvisor rafting and booked on-line. Easy process, immediate confirmation. 2 adults, 1 teen-ager 16 yo, 1 child 10 yo. Professional Welcome Desk and great waiter, Benjamin (what a luck: he studied for years in Padova, Italy, where we live!). Meat was really excellent (2 Filet Mignon 14oz, 1 petite 8oz, 1 K Rico steak 25oz) as well as home fries and jacked potato. Beers, coke... Glad to leave a tip. Would definitely recommend!
