Chicken Pot Pie had wonderful flavor and nice crust but inside was more like soup than pot pie; only two pieces of chicken and tiny vegetables.
If you like meat. You will love KQ. Great service. Casual and fun.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. The "top tier" restaurant for the 13th Street Kitchen groups and by far some of the best entrees and plates being served in the city. The entire staff is well versed in the menu and general pairings. The restaurant is also an actual butcher shop where the meats, poultry, and fish are prepared and cut fresh on the spot. For a restaurant primarily focusing on "meat", the vegetables are also some of the best in the city.
Highly recommend for any event, birthday, anniversary, celebration, or general evening dining!
Creative food and very reasonably priced. Had a great time!
Loved the food, service and great atmosphere (although it is a bit noisy). We shared a few small plates as appetizers and then shared the large meat sampler. Something for everyone and fantastic. Definitely will go back!
Great food and drink as usual wait staff was good overly eager to help us but a little less knowledgeable than what I would expect highly recommend get all the meats if you go with a group it's wonderful
We sat at the bar, which I love. Food and drinks were both great!
I went for my birthday and they made my night so beautiful, and so special. I am so so grateful for their kindness and hospitality. The food was incredible and made my day all the more special.
Weird pricing, items went from a $20 hamburger to a $100 steak, nothing in between
Food & atmosphere were incredible! My boyfriend & I went on a date night here & I cannot wait to return to try something new off the innovative menu!
My husband and I recently dined here with our 3-year-old daughter and everything was outstanding. We came early (5pm) and received the best possible service. Our waiter was extremely professional and even made sure our daughter was accommodated by offering a grilled cheese specially prepared for her. The food was out of this world - especially the short rib. We will definitely be back.
The birthday dinner for our daughter was made special by the unique restaurant style. Everything is grilled to perfection. My four kids shared the plates of mixed grill. On the platter of a great combination of perfectly seasoned meats was deliciously grilled vegetables and potato sides. The "birthday" cake was chocolate pudding with persimmons. The service was also impeccable. Great job. My only suggestion is that the wines were a bit expensive.
The high top tables between kitchen and meat room is perfect. I’ll always ask to sit right there!
Signature cocktails to start were inventive yet simple and tasty.
Service was warm, casual, and still professional.
The meal was amazing. The charcuterie was fresh and varied. I had the burger, cooked perfectly and the aoile did not mask the flavor of the meat. The rest of the table shared a mixed grill platter with options from andouillie and blood sausages to lamb. Each a distinctive flavor and portioned that everyone could sample.
Overall great experience.
Everything was very good including the starter cocktails. We have been several times as the same group and have noticed that the portions (never big by normal standards to begin with) have shrunk with the times especially notable in the charcuterie plate. Burger however, is generous and outstanding as usual.
The bass dish was the only disappointing note as it was raw on top and not tender and flaky throughout, if this is the trend with fish it did not work. While the white rice, white turnips, and white beans were ok, it was nothing special and with everything white in color, not very appealing.
It would be great if there were a couple of affordable wine choices, $50 carafe is pricey for the average person and the bottles were even higher.
Prior to a concert at Johnny Brenda's down the street we found parking right in front of Kensington Quarters. On a Wednesday evening around 5:45 the place was pretty quite which was exactly what we had hoped. We took high tops in the bar because we're bar folk. Our server was attentive and prompt. We ordered an Old Fashion and a Manhattan. We were asked what choice of alcohol use preferred and the drinks were excellent. Some Old Fashions have muddled orange and cherries. This was a classic!!! Wild Turkey, Sugar and bitters, period. The Manatten was a perfect balance of Rittenhouse Rye, Sweet Vermouth and bitters.
A small menu, but filled with interesting choices. We started with the corn bread which was a very pleasant surprise. A hot metal skillet with the corn bread covered in mushrooms, radicchio and a buttermilk cream sauce.
Known for their meats, my wife had the Pork Tasting which consisted of a sausage, a pork shoulder and a pork roast. Each better the the one before it. From the pantry I had the smoked chicken which was a breast and a deep fried wing. The smoked breast was the right amount of smokey and the wing was a crispy delight.
Overall a brilliant evening of food and drink. Highly recommended!!!
great venue... very clever and fresh
Food is absolutely declicious. The small charcuterie board was a perfect start for my date and I, followed by a KQ burger each. Also got a beer and a mixed drink, all totaling to $98 including tip which is a great price considering the quality of the food. Highly recommend to those looking for a good atmosphere and delicious, top-notch food!
We continue to be impressed every time we go. Never a disappointment. Menu changes seasonally - the short ribs were delicious! The service is second to none. The staff always greets you with warmth and smiles.
Great tasting food. Portions a bit smaller than I like.
This was the second weekend in a row we came for brunch at Kensington Quarters. The service today left much to be desired. On several occasions we tried to get the attention of an employee and were unable to. We had to ask for more coffee and drink refills several times. It took well over 45 minutes to get our food. No one checked on us after our food was finally brought to us. At the end of the meal we were awkwardly checked on but at that point there was nothing to be saved of the experience.
Army-Navy family get-together. Servers were friendly and accomidating. Food was amazing- perfectly cooked, fresh, tender meat- all different kinds. Swedt potatoes and brussel sprouts were special!
We started with the beet plate. The combination of the beets and cheese were delectable! We shared the pork sample next and that dish was perfectly tender. I can’t wait to go back!
Overall a bit disappointed that Kensington Quarters didn’t live up to the hype. The pork tasting, arguably what they are supposed to do best, was a big let down. The meats were dry, bland, and forgettable. The best dish of the night was the excellent agnolotti. My husband, who has been there before during the week, and loved it, suggested that the drop in quality was perhaps attributed to the bustle of a Friday night service.
Getting together with friends means sharing the mixed grill- a little bit of everything on the menu that night. Kensington never disappoints!
We were given complimentary champagne because we were celebrating an anniversary and the service was excellent even aside from that.
Excellent food, excellent service; thanks!!
We go here often, as it is in my son's neighborhood. I love the food selection. Excellent meats. My trout was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and delicious side dish. The mushroom toast was a little skimpy on the mushrooms, but had excellent flavor. Nice selection of cocktails, and after dinner aromatics. And the basil ice cream hit the spot. Wonderful flavors.
Way too loud. Getting tired of shouting at every restaurant anymore. If you're going to use nothing but hard surfaces you need some noise cancellation materials please! Had the trout entree - rice was way too salty, turnips were nice, trout was fine, but $25 price tag was very high. Dish was the size of a small plate. Sheesh. Basil ice cream and chocolate pudding were very good but not worth $10/each.
This is the 3rd time we've had dinner at Kensington Quarters. Food and drink are both great, inventive. Noisy but fun. Our only gripe was the size of the pour of the glass of wine and cider we had - rather small. But we'll definitely be back.
My 2nd visit. Obviously this place has lost a good bit of its original vibe. It was once a very difficult reservation to get. Now it was not overly busy on a Saturday night.
Food is okay. Nothing spectacular but outrageously overpriced for what it is.
The food was good, but the menu is VERY limited. Would have preferred more meat and fish entrees
Great place I can definitely recommend for smaller groups, food is very tasty. Upcoming neighborhood.
Good atmosphere! Food was delicious we started with small plates of mushroom toast, fried chicken and Brussel sprouts. Fried chicken had a little heat that enhanced the chicken. Brussel sprouts had green beans that gave the dish an unexpected layer of flavor-really good. We ordered the mixed grill entree and it would have fed all 4 of us easily. The entree was delicious and the home made sausage and kielbasa were some of best I’ve tasted. Service was spot on! Highly recommend Kensington Quarters!
Had such a great burger here. Great wine list too with lots of natural wines! Will definitely be back again soon.
Everything was delicious. Great service. Interesting cocktails. Generous desserts. Never tasted duck so well prepared.
Great cocktails, great food - we were notified that our food would be a bit late because of an over cooked entree that was being refired. Appreciate the consideration and expectation of great food!
Pretty good restaurant. The specialty drinks were great. The food was good, not outstanding for the price.
