While the food was good, the service was horrible. I've been going to L woods for many, many years and this was the worst service I ever had. It was as if I was in a diner, but worse because the food is not cheap.
The waitress had attitude, never checked if we needed or wanted anything until the very end of the meal. Dishes sat a long time before they were taken away. Just an overall bad experience. The server needed to be trained a whole lot. I told the manager since I am somewhat of a regular.

I had a great dinner. The brisket was tender. The Minestrone Soup was tasty. The Hot Fudge Sundae was just enough to complete the meal. I also brought home a Skirt Steak for a friend of mine. All in all a great dining experience.

Food was ok, nothing spectacular. However, the service and friendliness is outstanding. Our waiter Jason was awesome; friendly, outgoing, fast and knew his stuff and was so accommodating to our food requests.

Good selection of foods across the spectrum. A nice Northwoodsesque atmosphere with a nice alcohol and food selection. Portions were welcomingly hefty. Only critique was that the ribs were burnt and dried out.

We have been to LWoods many times and always had a good experience. That ended last Friday. Arrogant waiter who acted like he couldn’t be bothered with responding to our two requests for more salad dressing and more apples on a salad since there was only 1 small piece. Additionally, another server dropped part of one of our salads on the floor and left the lettuce and dressing stay on the floor next to our table. Despite our asking to clean it up our waiter lied and did not do it even though he said more than once that he would clean it up. Very bad service. I would hesitate before going back again.

An old fashioned supper club that is somewhat outdated inside but with really good food and drink. Ribs were delicious, baked potato was just right, and cocktails made perfectly. The restaurant was eager to please which doesn’t happen a lot nowadays.

Great restaurant! Loved the food. My salmon on a plank was outstanding. And the atmosphere was fun, quaint with lots of vibe.

The concept of the Wisconsin Supper Club is right on, so for an immersive, environmental theme this place does very well. From the log cabin exterior to the pine paneling and fish/lake photos inside, L. Woods captures the feeling of a lakeside spot from yesteryear. This restaurant group always does a nice job with theatrics, even if this tends to be more playful than authentic. However, the prices are just over the line of moderate for the measured portion sizes, not that the well-heeled Lincolnwood patrons would care. This is a popular spot with the locals and can be difficult to park on any given evening. Get a booth, because tables can be tight on a busy night. More casual than fancy.

We had a steak and the ribs, both of which were dry and not of the memorable quality our favorite rib place (a real lakeside spot in WI). Our bill was well over $100 for two. Most sides are extra, so don't expect the traditional salad or cheese spread. We strangely find that places with good coleslaw also have good food. This slaw was bland milky cabbage. The featured options of the Old Fashioned cocktail is a nice idea but not great in execution. Three good sips and you're left with a glass of ice. Our server was very attentive and friendly though certainly not as informed about the menu items as a real ma & pa server might be. A good guide might have directed us to the best options. The small complimentary ice cream for the birthday guest was the nicest part of the meal.

Generally not great. Air conditioning poor on hot evening. Slow and inattentive server. Shot of Jack Daniels straight up for $11.00! Requests for food preparation were ignored. Fish requested dry came drowning in what might have been butter. So they take it back to kitchen and drain the butter and again serve now cold fish.

Even served Ice Cream totally melted on a plate (probably used a hot plate and left it on the counter).
Requests for ice ignored.

Air conditioning was out! So hot! They did not tell us when we came in. It was over 90 degrees outside.
Wanted to leave but with elderly sister in law and where would we go!
Had to use clips to put my hair up.
Server was hot and tired and slightly cranky
Not a good experience!

We appreciate it when our reservations are honored. You absolutely got us in at the time we asked for. Our server was attentive. I order a Manhattan it had to be sent back, unfortunately. I ordered another type of cocktail, and it was fine. Our food was outstanding!!! We enjoy coming here and bringing out of town guests. They always enjoy eating here. Keep up the great work.

We were there for lunch on a very hot Saturday and it was almost as hot inside the restaurant! Also extremely noisy we could not have normal conversation; one of the salads was terrible, and the service was haphazard at best. I was very disappointed.

We generally love the Wisconsin supper club vibe here, but it was 95 degrees outside, and the air conditioning was definitely struggling inside the restaurant. The only cool location was the ladies room.

My husband ordered the beef ribs, which were not as good as he remembered. Also we were there to celebrate a birthday which I wrote in our OpenTable reservation and told the restaurant over the phone. I was surprised there was no acknowledgement.

I had a great meal with a couple of friends. My one friend just retired after over 37 years of service with the City of Chicago. We had Calamari, Clam Chowder Soup, Skirt Steak and some Chocolate Cake. A tasty meal with great service.

On a hot night, the air-conditioning was not functioning effectively, and everyone was sweating. The food was mediocre and overpriced--a small portion of mahogany chicken, underdone green beans almondine, and a mushy piece of crusted walleye. Other choices seemed pricey, especially a Friday special of fish and chips for over $25. We were disappointed and are not likely to return.
