Just ate here about two weeks ago, and everyone liked more than I did. Service and ambiance were great, but food was just OK. Much better this time. And the bread and salad were still great to go with a much better dish this time around. And tiramisu was still terrific, too. Still a bit expensive, but really a great environment. So glad I gave it another chance.
Always good but the special pasta with brisket was amazing!!!!!
La Cava was amazing!!! The homemade pasta was the best pasta Iv ever had. Its a great restaurant for a special occasion. My friend and I shared the tiramisu and it was so good and creamy and it was the best Iv had in a very long time!!!
If you have a chance to go definitely have the pasta!!!
As always, we had a wonderful dinner. Armando runs one of the best Italian restaurants in LA. A real hidden gem.
Love this place. Order any of the pastas.
My dining companions all enjoyed their food that I did. I had a branzino special which wasn't bad, just odd. Tricolore salad was perfect, and warm bread brought to table was excellent. Wine was enjoyed by those who drank. Pizza received high marks, and the chicken parmigiana was also popular. Shared a tiramisu for dessert, and all agreed it was excellent. Really warm, inviting atmosphere, and all staff was tremendous. Seemed a bit expensive for what it was, but I am looking forward to returning.
We went there last night for my sisters bday. I thought the food was really good. But the prices to me were a little to high I thought. But all in all good restaurant I will return
Food and service were excellent but beware of the nightly "specials". Our server recommended the risotto with white truffles which I foolishly ordered without asking the price. I was shocked when the bill arrived to find the white truffle special was $90! The server never bothered to forewarn me and my bad for not asking in advance. I will never make that mistake again.
I’ve never once had a bad meal here. Food is amazing. Service is impeccable. It’s my neighborhood restaurant and the whole family loves going here.
What a great dining experience. Terrific service and the yummiest Italian fare I've had since my last trip to Italy! Prices are just a tad bit too high but the overall experience makes up for it. Chef not willing to create a child's plate for my 6 year old grandson so I shared my meal with him. Portion sizes are generous and the wine (house Chianti) was excellent.
Will be back.
I wouldn’t go back due to the noise level. They even have panels on the ceiling to minimize the noise. If you want to have a conversation with anyone, not happening here.
Rude owner, rude staff. Will NEVER go back.
Love this place. Food never disappoints. The waiters all have exotic accents, so you know it’s good.
Had a nice dinner with my sons and son GF, before my younger went back to east coast. The food was great, better than I remembered but had only been there once before. The pastas were all very fresh and tasty. The place is small and quite loud but we will definitely be back !
Fantastic service and food at La Cava! Great choices on and off the menu in specials and on their wine list.
I haven't been in a while, but i am sure glad I brought my wife and 2 additional friends!
Amazing for dinner but a great spot for a quiet romantic or business lunch with farm to table fresh food and ingredients and an impressive and reasonable wine by the glass and wine list. One of our favorites!
The first impression was bad , the owner was so round , I had my reservation confirmation but he didn’t give me a chance to even talk to him , he just said it was for 11/9/19 and I didn’t call to cancel , thanks God the waiter was goo and the food , we had a guest and it was very embracing front of them .
Owner is great. Food is fantastic. Best restaurant in San Fernando Valley.
Very good menu and food. Nice local place. A good place to meet up with friends
Delicious as always.
Great service by Luis and excellent paparadelle and chicken ragu. Was told only serve this every 2-3 months!! Make it more often. It’s fabulous. I
Bought one extra to take home! Delicious. Nice occasion.
Birthday. Maybe a slice of cake rather than cookies but they really were enough we love sitting on patio. A great choice. Our second time and not the last. A bit pricey but ok once in a while for homemade pasta.
Food and service are always excellent at this great neighborhood eatery
Wonderful food and great service.
Great little gem in the neighborhood. But they are not flexible on potatoes versus pasta substitutions. Just a note that what you see is what you get and nothing else unless you pay extra.
Great food great ambiance
The food here is consistently great. So glad to have found this place! Everything fresh, cooked perfectly. Highly recommend!
Great food, fantastic service!
The staff was very attentive and top notch however the food was blah and extremely overpriced. Will not be going back.
Fabulous food! Great service!
The noise level is much higher if you sit inside, I rated it normal because we sat on the patio
The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was good, nothing special and over-priced. When you order a filet, you don’t expect a flat steak that looks like a pancake for over $35. The pasta was good, not enough chicken and veggies, and too heavy on the sauce. Beware, the actual prices on the menu were $8-10 more than indicated on-line. High potential and very disappointing.
Love La Cava for dinner but great for a nice quiet lunch or lunch meeting. Great staff and owner. Authentic Italian with the freshest ingredients!
Perfect as always
Excellent service and my pasta was to die for!
The food and service were very good. But I do tire of Caesar salads that are dressed with a too typical and not very good mayo-based dressing that leaves much to be desired and not reflective of a more genuine, made at your table Caesar dressing. I make a tastier dressing and would be happy to share it and improve the taste and response of their customers!
Always a great restaurant to go to. Great entrees and pasta dishes. Terrific service and reasonable prices for the quality of food. Italian gem in the middle of Sherman Oaks!
Great, as always!
The food and service are always excellent. Great place to have a bite or a full dinner
Food was good but not outstanding. The menu is large and a little daunting. Perhaps a smaller selection might be helpful. The Papardelle with brazed ribs was mostly noodles, sauce and shredded meat instead of what we thought it would be. Service was outstanding and friendly. I brought a very excellent boutique Cabernet and the $27 corkage is high for a restaurant with a good but limited wine list. Might I humbly suggest a more moderate corkage when a patron brings a fine wine and is willing to share with the wait staff or sommelier. The place is cozy and very inviting. Will try it again and ask the waiter whether he would recommend a specific dish.
We ordered the four cheese pizza which was absolutely delicious and a salad, for two of us to share. The pizza came out first and it was really big. We kept waiting and waiting for the salad but it never came. When the server finally came he asked if we were ready for our salad. At that point we said we were not really interested if he didn’t make it yet. He was nice about it. The house wine was good. Except for one other party we were the only ones there at lunchtime. The mango sorbet was great and he gave us free cookies which was nice but not very tasty.
