La Dolce Vita
Such an anomaly on Saturday night with the wait time. We waited 40 minutes before our dinner order was taken, then it took 1:20 hours before our dinner came out. Never have had this experience before, but the food, the server staff and especially the drinks were amazing, as always.
Old school charm in this small Italian bistro. The small size and dark ambiance transports you to a different place where good chatter is being bantered about over wine and food. Had salmon special over risotto which was exquisite. Tiramasu for dessert is a must.
Beeen going to La Dolce Vita since the early 80's. I miss Jimmy and his wife Ava. My pal Rubin retired, however there are still friendly faces.
Or meal was delicious on March 20, 2019. I will always return.
We are regulars, and we get excellent service each time. They never disappoint!
Loved the service and ambience but both of is found the food to be overpriced for the amount and quality. Sorry, but disappointed..was really looking forward to going there and enjoying a top notch food experience.
It really was an awesome place we sat in the Frank Sinatra booth you have great wine great food osso bucco and the Sinatra steak was the favorite as well as the veal marsala
Great wonderful place ... the restaurant has not changed ..it’s a masterpiece
Celebrated Valentine’s Day at this gem! Absolutely love this restaurant- great ambiance, history, service, and delicious food!
One of the few restaurants left in Los Angeles with the former glamour of the city still in full view. The bar is a fabulous homage to yesteryear when Sinatra and company were regulars. LA is a city that is not respectful enough to its history and la dolche vita has maintained and captured what made the town’s reputation great originally. I better not say too many more wonderful things about the place, rather keep it As one of bev hills best kept secrets!
Saw a tv special about La Dolce Vita and thought that’s a cool restaurant. Then while we were in LA for a doctor appointment we decided to check it out. It was even better than we expected. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was stellar and the food was delicious.
It was exactly what we wanted. A quiet, classic Italian restaurant with a full bar and great service. Drinks prices were on the high side, but food and service were en pointe.
Thank you for accommodating our group.
It’s consistently great food at this restaurant. I love the Caesar salad and think it’s the best one in town! Chicken parmigiana- great! Sinatra Steak- great! Penne Pasta great! And I love the relaxing atmosphere! Super Comfortable!
Old Hollywood ambiance, good service, food was good but not outstanding. good martini
Server forgot to bring my cocktail, chicken parmigiana was over cooked/burnt and the Sinatra steak was undercooked. Wasn’t a great evening.
Service, Ambience and Food were fabulous! Will return next time I am in LA.
What an absolute disappointment of a dining experience! Save your time and money. Frank Sinatra would be shaking in his grave if he witnessed the travesty of a Valentine’s Day dinner in which my girlfriend and I shared last night at La Dolce Vita.
If you enjoy paying $90 a person for a pre cooked plate of spaghetti and meatballs and over cooked dry chicken Milanese, then this place is for you! How this restaurant centrally located in Beverly Hills can still pay their bills is absolutely shocking to me.
The staff clearly half assed everything they could have last night at dinner. And to add insult to injury, they felt the need to include 25% gratuity onto my bill! This was an outrageous gesture considering there were only two people at my table. Not a party of eight or a party of nine, which is standard when it comes to automatic gratuity added to a bill. After demanding that the 25% tip they took for themselves be taken off my bill, I was treated with petulance and a nasty attitude from the manager and bartender.
I frequent and enjoy exploring new restaurants in LA on a regular basis and cannot remember leaving a dining establishment with such a bad taste in my mouth.
Best of luck to you La Dolce Vita, you’re certainly going to need it!
Was like being in the godfather movie, what a setting and the service was superb
Our waiter, Jose, is wonderful. We come every year for our anniversary. Food, atmosphere and service, fantastic.
Excellent restaurant. The service and food are amazing.
We really enjoyed our dinner and the service that we received from the entire staff. Our waiter Benji was great, and the food was amazing. Valet parking begins at 7pm so if you arrive for dinner prior to that, be sure to look for parking lots prior to your arrival. It can be a bit tricky. Overall though, great experience and we will be back. Thank you.
My favorite Italian restaurant in L.A.! I love the atmosphere (very cozy and intimate), and the staff is just wonderful -- as is the food. Every dining experience at Dolce has been wonderful!
Food is fabulous and service superb! I love this restaurant for any occasion or simply a festive meal.
La Doce Vita is my favorite restaurant.
One of the best restaurants we've ever been to! The food was excellent. The staff was charming. Everything was perfect.
Delicious, great service, ambiance, nice and quiet. Great music.
One of the finest restaurants in the world, in my opinion. It is a must do whenever I am in Beverly Hills. Don't tell everyone because it is a secret gem.
Second visit here and it is outstanding in every way! A Beverly Hills favorite!
Jose was the best!
A+++ experience for my Aunt’s birthday last night. I’m so glad I discovered this place. The food can best be described like a Guy Fieri saying it’s “out of bounds, outstanding”. I love the chicken parmigiana, it’s like the perfect meal! Perfectly cooked chicken topped with the most delicious sauce and cheese, and a side of broccolini. It’s probably the best chicken parmigiana I’ve ever had.
But everything on the menu here has been excellent . So far I’ve had the Sinatra Steak, the Bolognese, the veal parmigiana, the Penne pasta, and a couple fish dishes too.
The wait staff is great too. The waiters were highly attentive and kept bringing us their wonderful bread!
Can’t wait to go back and explore their menu further. It’s “Out of bounds”!!!
This was our second time at La Dolce Vita. The service was absolutely awful. The wine was full of sediments, the waiter served our food without giving us cutlery, didn’t offer Parmesan cheese for the pasta. When he asked if we were done with our main course, he then brought us the bill. I guess they weren’t keen on selling desserts or coffee. After complaining about the experience, they offered to reduce the amount on the bill. Wouldn’t recommend it.
The best food in LA and I’ve been to every fine restaurant in town! I typically get the Sinatra steak or the Branzino. Delicious! I love the atmosphere too.
Came here for our anniversary and were not disappointed! Complete with complimentary champagne and dessert. The staff were very attentive, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect. Looking forward to going back again some time soon!
My family and I have been coming for Christmas Eve dinner for four years now and we were very upset to see that there was a fixed menu. We had been talking about what we were going to have for dinner pretty much the second we left last year. We also felt like we were being rushed. The restaurant and staff are very nice and great to us. We have enjoyed coming here and creating a new family tradition, but not with a fixed menu and feeling rushed.
We ordered at 8:10pm. Food arrived at 9:20pm. We repeatedly asked politely and got “it will be here in 5 minutes”. They never offered a free dessert or to take the cocktails off the bill. Completely oblivious. We saw friends there who had the same experience. Food was cold too.
After years of coming here, I’m done.
4 measly asparagus for a side order.
Pasta was nothing special.
Cool ambiance but far from worth the price.
Always a superb experience. Food, service and ambiance. There is a reason it has been around forever.....never a bad experience.
A+ great experience! The food was amazing!
Great place, romantic excellent service, excellent food
classic Italian fare with good service and food. Appetizer salad was excellent as were the main courses Penne, Veal chop and rack of lamb
Old school upscale American-Italian restaurant that is actually great! The cocktails are right: tasty, not too strong but not watered down. The appetizers are amazing: you have to order the broiled clams. They are amazing. I would recommend any type of meat and pasta. The veal parm was delicious. The wine list is also outstanding: Pinot noir we ordered was perfect. Dessert: they comp’ed a piece of tiramisu for our 5th anniversary: classic handmade Italian recipe. Go there for any special occasion; it’s pricey but 100% worth it.
