Rude and loud and offensive group next to us. Food was average AT BEST. Way to much money for a blah meal.
An all around outstanding dining experience with excellent service.
Fabulous experience. The hostess was lovely, server great & sommelier was terrific!
La Tour was everything we had expected, and more! The wait staff ( Stevan) wasvery professional but not overbearing. The wines by the glass were reasonably priced and excellent. The Lamb Shank and Lobster Bisque as well as the Wygu Beef and Wedge Salad were fabulous and prepared perfectly!
Rushed. Mediocre food for the cost.
Best leg of lamb and Wagyu beef my wife and I have ever had. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and paired exceptionally well with the meats. Delicious!
Amazing food. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Service was a little slow, but they were very nice once they came around. The Cure All drink was delicious. The desserts were not as impressive as the entrees, but still very tasty. I would go again
Go every year for our Anniversary Love it!! Been going 8 years now.
There were 3 of us that ate at La Tour for dinner, the food and service were excellent and we sat right next to the fire which pleased my wife and daughter. If you are in Vail this should be one of the restaurants on your list.
This was my second time to eat at La Tour, and this experience was no where near my last visit. The food lacked sauces for several of the guests, the lamb shank was not falling off the bone as it should and the kale was not cut or cooked properly. We were disappointed, but understand that the season may be part of the problem.
Servers were very nice, but confusion about our drink orders made do awkwardness.
Just wonderful.........gotta try the bourbon mountain dessert. OMG
We went for mother’s Day and my husband had his heart set on a specific menu item and when he ordered the waiter told him you were out if it and by this point we had already had the menu for about 20 m - kinda depressing- otherwise good- kinda pricey
This was an amazing evening. I have a bunch of allergies and am on a diet, the chef came out to make sure everything was going to work for me. I was so touched, this was a level of service and amazing cuisine that is rarely found, thank you!
All good, but the trout could have been better.
The food was terrific for both of us, and the service was excellent. The noise level was high since the house was full taking advantage of their special pricing.
Great food & service made a friends reunion special. Thanks so much to staff & chef!!
Always enjoy La Tour when in Vail. I felt like the quality has improved since last time I was there.
One of the best white table cloth, fine dining French restaurants in the Valley.
Met the chef on the chairlift during his lunch break and had made the decision to dine there half way up the lift based on his passion for his profession and description of the night’s entrees. Did not disappoint. While French inspired, amazing locally procured dishes are available like trout and Wagu steak. Kids menu is also second to none with salmon, NY Strips and chicken among the traditional Mac and cheese, spaghetti, etc. kids menu came with an amazing dessert of ice cream, gourmet waffle cone and fresh fruit. The only recommendation I would have for the management would be to add a reasonably priced house or table wine and for those diners satisfied by such and offering.
We are long-time patrons of La Tour. As residents, we were sad to learn the restaurant would no longer serve lunch.
We made reservations weeks ago for two family birthdays. When we arrived, they could not find our reservation. Although we received 2 confirming calls and emails a day leading up to the dinner.
Once seated, they had ONE waitress for the entire room. When we finished we were asked about dessert. We were told that if we did not purchase a dessert, they could not sing happy birthday.
I don’t think I’ve EVER gone to a restaurant that did not do something for patrons with birthdays. Tacky to say the least.
We left and will NOT be going back. Present management is just awful. Period.
Used to love this restaurant. No longer one of Vail's best. Wine selections and sommelier great, but food mediocre at best.
Always enjoy our meals at La Tour. It is our first stop when we arrive in Vail.
Food was delicious. Prices are a bit high and our server a bit arrogant. Guess they named a drink after him. We’re long-time Vail folks— glad this restaurant continues to be consistently good.
The service was outstanding. The food was completely memorable. We talked about the black cod for days! My 9- year old niece ordered the chicken from the kids’ menu and was still talking about it the next day. The server (Stephen?) could not have been nicer. The entire experience was great. We love LaTour and go there every time we visit Vail.
Loved this place! Excellent food and great wine list without any pretension. We also enjoyed the music - mellow ranging from Allman Brothers to Widespread Panic to Jerry Band. Kai the sommelier was super helpful and server was good too. My dish, the sole, was delicious ... only complaint is the hericot vert were barely cooked, but a minor issue. Will definitely return on our next visit to vail and highly recommend.
Food exquisite. Special presentations photo worthy. Ben was very good. The air next the window was a little chilly! Its a homerun..
We have been here seven times and our last was bad.
The food was actually bad.
I have Paella and it was terrible.
The lamb was goopy
We will not be back
Best restaurant in Vail. Excellent service, wonderful food!
Love this restaurant and make a point of eating here at least once every trip to Vail that we make. It was a bit loud this time - usually lively noise, but this time we were next to a family that was having fun - no big deal, for sure, as everyone was happy!
Anniversary dinner! Great experience.
The food was TERRIBLE. Cold, they were out of most of what we wanted to order. Our waiter was so so nice, but I don’t understand how this restaurant has over 4 stars on yelp. Seems like a poorly managed restaurant to me.
Service was poor for a restaurant with the reputation it has. Would not recommend it.
The food at La Tour was amazing! However, depending on the server who you get, they may try to up-sell you on everything. Our server seemed very nice however mentioned that there was an upcharge for bread and asked if we would like some, we said no, and discussed a few other options. Upon ordering, he said okay great, and bread too and not really understanding we said sure, as he implied it was complimentary because he mumbled that there was an upcharge when he first arrived at the table. Then when we ordered a bottle of wine, which we pronounced perfectly, he asked what wine again and didn't seem to know what wine we were talking about, wanted to see the page the wine was on, and then proceeded to tell us that the wine was very bad and then pointed to the wine that was $20 more and told us is was the best wine in the restaurant and everyone ordered it... which I doubt as this is a restaurant with a french influence and we were ordering a super tuscan wine, which isn't as familiar of a wine with most people.
All in all, I felt a bit swindled, however the food was GREAT! (as was the bread, which we didn't need but did eat).
Overall nice experience. We loved the food and the cocktails, particularly the wine list, after dinner cocktails, and pre-dinner cocktails.
Regret that the request for the special occasion was not there and the service have change from the previous attentiveness and subtle speciality of what La Tour has to offer
Food was incredible
Way too loud for a fine dining restaurant.
They add a 3% surcharge to your bill instead of just having honest pricing.
Their signature dish Dover Sole at $54 was was not that good
Everything was delicious
Wife has Dover sole...
I had the lamb
Beet salad also great
Los platillos diferentes muy sabroso... la sopa de cebolla y el salmón excelente
We love La Tour! The Chef is fabulous and his wife is the nicest! Can’t wait to go back!
