Umi Sake House is a unique Japanese cuisine restaurant in the Belltown area of Seattle featuring the highest quality seafood available in the Northwest, a large izakaya-style tapas menu, and boasting a sake list of over 60 imported Japanese bottles. The interior is multi-faceted, with a black slate tiled traditional dining room, a gorgeous 14 person capacity wooden sushi bar, a semi private "tatami" room which holds 12 people, a larger 25 person private dining room, an enclosed "back patio" casual dining room complete with tropical garden, a black concrete liquor bar with custom sake cocktails and fusion traditional cocktails. The variety of atmospheres allows for a different experience with every visit, and the vastness and quality of the menu does the same.     The food and service was excellent. Highly recommend the crab & shrimp fettuccine and the panko crusted halibut - nothing better than fresh seafood & fish prepared perfectly. Our waiter, James, was great - made some great suggestions and made sure all our special requests were followed through.

    The food and drinks at Umi is excellent. Was at the restaurant with coworkers and everyone was impressed with the quality. The seafood was fresh. For the sushi, rice:fish ratio was excellent, the cooked dishes and full flavours. The top dishes from our dinner was the chicken kaarage (omg, so moist), spicy tomato tofu (what a sauce), the rolls (all were yums). The cocktail drinks were well balanced with unique Umi twists. Def a Seattle fav.

    Another Tom Douglas jewel! Raw oysters were super fresh and perfectly shucked. If you find a better happy hour deal on oysters or burger I’d love to know about it. Our server was amazing and gave us great recommendations on food and drinks. Last and certainly not least, don’t forget to have the coconut cream pie! It’s still amazing!
