At Terra, everything starts with the fire.Nestled on Marcus Clarke Street, Terra celebrates the prima beauty of cooking over flames — a balance between smoke, char, and honest produce. Founded by Anthony Iannelli and chef Sung Son, the restaurant is driven by a shared respect for high-quality ingredients and the craft of cooking with intention. From the moment guests step inside, the rhythm of Terra unfolds — whole chickens and scorched pineapples turning on a custom-built rotisserie from Western Australia, the soft crackle of charcoal, the scent of wood and spice in the air. The menu moves with the seasons: thoughtful daytime plates that evolve into refined, flame-grilled dinners, paired with minimal-intervention wines and timeless cocktails.Terra is both a nod to tradition and a modern statement — a celebration of produce, people, and the magic that happens when fire meets food.

Our experience was perfect. The food was plated with precision and care, tasted incredible, and the service was excellent. The restaurant itself was warm and cosy, inviting, and beautifully designed. I just wish there was more of it - it was so good!

Every time I go back it just seems to get better. Tried the eggplant tacos this time - YUM! Couldn't go past the mussels - just spectacular. They need to bottle that sauce as I want to take it home!

The dishes we had were some of the tastiest, best balanced, well thought-out plates of food we've had in a very long time. That also includes the way textures were balanced and considered. Two examples of this were the Taro fritters, which was balanced with crisp pickled chilli, glutinous flaxseed chutney and a creamy yoghurt sauce; and the Mountain Cake filled with a white choc cream that was not too sweet, shatp apples in miso caramel atop a butterscotch sauce that was so good it should be bottled. While they were both delicious the absolute stand out dishes for us were the radish cakes and the duck. The duck was the best we've had in years and the radish cakes were the best we've ever had (this coming from someone with a slight radish cake addiction). If they'd been open on Sunday we would have returned for lunch the very next day. Sidenote - the accommodation of food allergies was superb. I'm allergic to crustaceans but can still tolerate some cross contamination. The wait staff and the chef all checked and double-checked on this for each dish. When eating out comes with some nervousness about reacting to food this consideration meant I could enjoy my evening without monitoring for symptoms.
