Restaurants near Duke of Gloucester Street

Upon arriving at the Sweet Tea and Barley, we were warmly greeted and welcomed. We were seated by the window which was very comfortable. Our waitress, Shannon, was very attentive and informative of the dishes My husband chose the catfish dinner and I chose the the short rib dinner. Both were very good. All in all, the restaurant which is just inside the Williamsburg Lodge, was very good. We would definitely eat there again.

Stunning venue. Incredible staff. Excellent selection of food and wine. I love the option of a casual drink at the bar or fine dining. Everyone we encountered was amazing and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect.

Plenty of greens in the family-style salad. My husband and I wondered if we would be able to eat it all. We ate 3/4th of it. The fried chicken had great flavor and the beef was tender. The veggies were cooked just right. The texture was medium - not raw and not overcooked- just right. The strawberry cream dessert was light and refreshing. We were very satisfied.

Our meal to celebrate several special occasions was wonderful. Our server, Sarah, was awesome and gave us exceptional attention. Each of us had a great dinner.

We did a round of dinner visits to three of the colonial taverns during Christmas week. The wait staff/Historical interpreters really make the experience and we had three very good ones. The food was all good but I didn't have high expectations for the beef and I was not surprised that it was good but not great. We were there for the experience and all the other food was pretty good as were the drinks and local beer. It was a fun time and an experience that we'd probably do occasionally when visiting WIlliamsburg. We'd recommend it for anyone who hasn't been
