The 44-acre estate Rancho Encinal was built for geophysicist and Texas Instruments’ founder Everett Lee DeGolyer and his wife Nell. The home was designed by Los Angeles architects Derman Scott and Burton Schutt in 1939 and Dallas landscape architect Arthur Berger, was hired to create the 4½-acre formal gardens which overlook White Rock Lake. Key elements include a magnolia allée, wisteria arbor, and rose garden. In 1976, the estate became a key component of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.The DeGolyer Estate was listed on the National Register in 1978.Surrounded by the Arboretum’s natural beauty, the restaurant seamlessly blends history, nature, and culinary excellence.     After visiting the Mandela Global Exhibition at the African American Museum, this was the PERFECT way to celebrate Founder’s Day with my Sorority Sister(Elogeme Adolphi Christian Sorority Inc.). We received EXTRAORDINARY customer service from the Greeter to one of the Owners! Thank you for having vegan options on the menu. This was an AUTHENTIC Farm to Table culinary experience. Well Done!

    great food! i’m sure the fish is worth the price, but as a vegan i still think this place is great! super fresh ingredients, delicious nori and sushi rice, and the service was wonderful. my only qualm was the drinks were suuuuuuper expensive, so if i go again it would definitely be on happy hour. otherwise very happy!

    Cane Rosso is a great Italian place! Up until now, I thought it was mainly a pizza place. We saw some really nice pasta dishes go by and we ordered one with our pizza. The chicken parmigiana spaghetti was so good, and our pizza was amazing. The best ever since we started going to Cane. It was a Margarita pizza with added sautéed onion, smoked provalone and meatballs. It was so great! We asked that the pizza be cooked a little less than usual. Usually the outer crust is blackened and we can’t eat that part. They say some charcoal is good for you, but we don’t like it. So, our dinner was delicious. We even had leftovers for the next day.
