At Momo we do what we love. We work with amazing local producers and suppliers and use only the best seasonal produce. Our head chef Michal Buchta has been with us since 2016. His dishes are simply delicious - always full of flavour and finesse. Our dining room is casual and relaxed. We have a great selection of organic wines, local beers and soft drinks. Our menu is gluten free, dairy free and vegan friendly. Since we opened in 2014 we have won many local and national awards - including BEST CASUAL DINING, BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, BEST EMERGING IRISH CUISINE to name but a few.

    We had a fantastic experience. The staff were very friendly and not only willing to engage/connect but also show good care with attentiveness. The food quality was top drawer. The starters were a decent size and the mains were delicious. We had the Hake and the Rib eye steak. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. The ambience were bustling and the building itself is full of character. Would recommend highly.

    Recently celebrated a special occasion at Lyla’s and it was absolutely top class from start to finish! The setting was very unique but more importantly the food was delicious! The shepherds pie in particular was a real stand out dish. Staff were very welcoming and you could tell they were passionate about the food on the menu. We shared a couple of different desserts to finish but the tiramisu was definitely a showstopper. Great choice of cocktails too. Cannot wait to come back already to try some of the other dishes. Definitely my new go to spot in Kilkenny and would really recommend it for groups and special occasions.

    An amazing menu, myself and my wife had the early bird 3 course early evening menu. Wife had soup of the day, butternut squash I had whipped feta and beetroot said. Both absolutely amazing. Main course Mrs had salmon i had silverblade. Again amazing. Deserts wete rhubarb and custard Cheesecake and meringue desert. Both stunning. Possibly the best all round meal I have ever had. Service was also exceptional in beautiful surroundings. 20 out of 10.

    We visited Scalini on a Wednesday night as a group of four and had a wonderful experience. We shared two starters — the Burrata with heirloom tomatoes and the Supplì al Telefono — both were delicious and perfect for sharing. Our mains were equally impressive: spaghetti with prawns, pappardelle di carne, and pollo Milanese. Every dish was full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and very generous. It was a celebration for us, and the scalini crew made it feel extra special with some fun karaoke and even a complimentary drink or two. The management duo went above and beyond to make the night memorable — you can tell they truly love what they do, and it shines through in the atmosphere and service. Great food, great energy, and outstanding hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!
