The Beacon is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. From our kitchen to our staff, we strive for innovation and discovery in all facets of our company. We love the intentional, the specific, and the well-cared-for. We work closely with our Blue Ridge farmers, producers, and NC fisherman to present deliberate and thoughtful food and beverage menus. Our Bar highlights inspiring cocktails and an impressive biodynamic wine program. A dedication to offering natural wines adhering to strict traditional methods, free of pesticides, and minimal intervention. Live music every Tuesday and Thursday during dinner service provides a subtle and delightful ambience. Our semi-private section of our dining room hosts "family style" dining of up to 30 guests. Feel free to contact us for availability. Join us every first friday of the month for Jazz Jam from 9:30 PM - Midnight, including late night food and drinks.

Our farmers define our menu. The local Appalachian produce changes with the season and so does our menu. The menu will change week to week or day to day depending on climate and seasonal growth length. From ramps and morels to soft shell crab and local beef, we strive to provide the absolute freshest in ingredients.     Our server, George, was amazing. He gave excellent recommendations and was spot on. We had the Cuban crepe as our appetizer. I’m so glad we did!! It was amazing. Absolutely delicious and so flavorful. For our entrees we had the ramen and the ribeye. Both were delicious as well. All the the different flavors from both dishes were impressive. They definitely know what they’re doing there.

    We visit the area every year and are always looking for something new. We found this resturant online and it had 3500+ reviews and 5 stars. The Gamekeeper did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is small, so they executed every detail perfectly. The food was really good. The location is beautiful. We will visit again.

    What a wonderful dining experience at The Beacon in Boone, NC! From the inviting atmosphere to the exceptional service, everything made for a memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell that attention to detail and quality are priorities here. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. The Beacon is truly a gem in the High Country! If you’re visiting Boone or live in the area, I highly recommend adding The Beacon to your list. We will definitely be back!
