We're an independent restaurant and café tucked beside the McManus Museum on Albert Square in Dundee. We're run by two Kiwis and we take our name from the Kiwi tradition of the "bach" — a humble holiday home where friends and whanau gather to unwind, eat well, and lose track of time.Brunch is at the core of what we do — for 10 years now. And today, we cook over fire (kanaku) because it's what we grew up doing and it makes everything taste better. We cook what we love — food from everywhere we've lived, travelled and eaten. There's no single cuisine here, just the stuff that's made us happy over the years. We pour good beer because life's too short for bad ones. And we don't care what you're wearing. Whether you come for brunch at nine, brunch at one or fire at two, we've got you covered. The space is bright, deceptively large and very casual - wear shorts and jandals if you choose.Reserve a table with us on our website thebach.uk/book.Aroha nui - Wendy & Steven

The food is always outstanding at Ferry Selkie and we were not disappointed. We had our usual chorizo and black pudding in red wine but this time paired it with crispy chicken bites, luscious burrata and parmesan and truffle fries. Everything was really tasty. My only complaint is they had run out of my favourite wine Fiammetta rose prosecco which I was really looking forward to. Here's hoping they re-stock very soon!

Absolutely 1st class meal with lovely wine in a great location. Always love this place and it was the first choice for our anniversary meal out as we had our first date night out here when it was Sol y sombre. Great choice of tapas super tasty accompanied by a lovely bottle of Malbec. The waiting staff were first class very attentive and helpful….. can’t rate this place highly enough

I booked this for a birthday lunch with no knowledge of the restaurant or area. Roo’s Leap far surpassed my expectation. On entering there was a lovely feel to the place enhanced by the Aborigine art mural on the stairwell. We were greeted warmly and given an excellent table overlooking the links. A nice touch was the birthday card on the table! Our waitress (Rachell?) was friendly, relaxed and welcoming - we immediately felt at ease. The food was excellent in quality and quantity and demonstrated some excellent flavours. Service also was just right. Unfortunately we do not live in the area otherwise I think visits to Roo’s Leap would become very frequent. An excellent lunch and one of the best dining experiences I’ve enjoyed in a long time. Loved it!!
