Restaurants near Lake Montauk

Loved everything about The Bird ... especially Robbie who served us when we were there for breakfast on May 21. We used to go to Bird on the Roof when it was just breakfast and also a clothing store (!) and always like it. Looking forward to having dinner there sometime. Also LOVE the music that is playing (in addition to there being live music sometimes). Keep up the great work and food!

The mussel appetizer dish was phenomenal, I’d recommend it to anyone!

Wonderful food, attentive service, but very noisy. Cries out for a carpet or any sound abatement that might allow conversation at a table for 2 to4. Miss the old original Gurney’s corny Italian rococo decor that was a relief from the now ubiquitous “ zen”running to “ Amish “ look of un inviting plain colorless Uber simple gray fixtures. Looks as if it was decorated by Monks who have taken a vow of poverty. Art work is all black, gray and during late fall no view of gorgeous ocean after early sunset. No music either but the noise would drown it out anyway. Very pricey for teensy portions.

The owner, Leya, is so friendly and energetic. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. I'd mention my server, but I forget his name. Sorry because he was just awesome. Loved talking with him. The food, drinks and entertainment were great. Even surprise guest Jason Momoa promoting his vodka, Meili (which is fantastic!) was an added bonus. I honestly have nothing negative at all to say about Duke's. All around it was a great experience! Hope to return next summer.
