So NOBODY was gonna tell me that our sleepy little town of Upper Marlboro, Maryland now has a whole Michelin-star restaurant with an award-winning chef? 👨🏽‍🍳 WOW!!! For those of you that haven't entered this heavenly food kingdom don't let the elegantly demure exterior of Michael’s Restaurant fool you. When you step inside, you’re transported into a world of ultra-elegance. The ambiance… the décor… the staff… the aromas… OH. MY. GOSH. I thought I’d died and gone to food heaven — and I am NOTORIOUSLY not a foodie! And speaking of the food… YOU BETTER HUSH YO’ MOUTH!!! Michael’s has the kind of cuisine that’s worth making a special trip for. This isn’t a stop on the way to your destination. This restaurant IS the destination. Every dish is distinct, intentional, and executed to absolute perfection. 👌🏾 👨🏽‍🍳 Exceptional quality ingredients 👨🏽‍🍳 Harmony of flavors 👨🏽‍🍳 Mastery of culinary technique 👨🏽‍🍳 The chef’s personality shining through in every plate And let me not forget the patrons. The BEAUTIFUL people! Many of them were dressed to the nines!!! You remember… THE WAY WE USED TO STEP OUT!!! FINE AS WINE IN THE SUMMERTIME!!! 💃🏽🕺🏾 We have lived here for 13 years and have wished, prayed, and begged for a restaurant of this caliber to open in Prince George’s County. And lo and behold… HERE IT IS!!! Now Michael’s may not be new to some of you, but it’s new to me, and they can officially count me as a regular. Matter of fact, I’m pressing my dress 👗 right now and going back next week. I TOLD Y’ALL I’M NOT A FOODIE!!!😠 And yet here I sit studying Michael’s menu, already deciding what I’m ordering next. I’M DOOMED.😋 Oh Lawd! 😩

Every dish was fantastic, atmosphere felt historic

10/10 Food: Tirokafteri, smoked beat salad, imam bayldi, kolokitokeftedes, Sheep cheese with dates, lamb baharat, and walnut delight. (Came out to $107 with tip) Everything was amazing. The zucchini pancakes were my girlfriend’s favorite. I loved the lamb although the portion was a little small. Service: staff were very polite and attentive. I wish they brought the food out a little slower. I felt like we were being rushed to clear plates and make room for our next dishes. Ambience: the place is large but still feels cozy and comfortable. A little cold inside but that was a benefit for us as it was very hot. The table we were at had the sun shining in through a window that didn’t have a curtain directly on our face but fortunately as the sun go lower it wasn’t a problem. It was a little loud. Tables are very comfortable and you have good distance from other diners. Prices are super reasonable. The low of individual dishes allows you to order a bunch of options —which we loved. Highly recommend going here!

We traveled from Chicagoland to experience the food from young African American ADA executive chef Randal J Matthews. The food was crazy good!! We were Not disappointed!!!! Brian our waiter was fantastic and Carlos the GM was on point and very passionate!!!

We had reservations for brunch. Our table was ready. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. Our food was hot and good! We will go back again.
