All of our meats are “naturally raised” meaning no steroids, antibiotics or hormones and “humanely raised” meaning room to roam, proper shelter and gentle handling. We make every effort to buy only sustainably harvested seafood, primarily from the Gulf of Maine.     Our second evening at the Reading Room at the Bar Harbor Inn was just as impressive as our first. The room’s energy and ambiance, attentive service, and beautifully executed dishes from a thoughtfully designed menu made for another memorable dinner. We’re returning for their final night of the season—our third visit—to try more of the menu. Two nights simply weren’t enough!

    Bella our waiter was terrific and all four of our meals were excellent… We had two of the specials - pork chop and braised fish and my wife and I had veal. Very happy we made a reservation with open table as the seating was beautiful with large sunny windows overlooking the wooded stream. Great night with family. Thank you.
