In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors.     We enjoyed our dinner at Yalos last night and will definitely return! We loved the illuminated menus and the decor. Highlights from the menu include the Baklava Old Fashioned, Traditional Greek Salad, Skordalia, Fried Calamari, Lamb Chops, Lavraki (fish), Broccolini and the Baklava Cheesecake! The Skordalia and Calamari were the best I have ever had! Hats off to the Chef!

    Loved our waiter John and sitting in the pallor on a quiet Monday Had duck which was outstanding and my husband had the seared tuna which was off the charts. So happy to find this restaurant close to home
