- SsammieNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoFirst time dining here for a special date night and it was spectacular! The staff were all wonderful… so happy and polite with impeccable manners, they make you feel like royalty, so special! The food was OUTSTANDING… it was delicious, every single mouthful of all three courses, and cocktails were AMAZING… The food especially had a lovely touch of class, but was not to “posh” or overpowering. The flavours were delicate and all matched beautifully, so huge Thankyou to EVERYONE “behind the scenes” and front of house you are all doing a FANTASTIC job and we cannot wait to return in the future, for our next special occasion! Thank you again for meeting my booking request, as best you could (near the blossom tree) and thankyou for making our night so special and memorable!More infoBranches RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.9
- EEszterLondon •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoWe had the restaurant week menu. It was great value for price. The starters, steaks and the basque cheesecake were fantastic. We also had the chimichurri margarita which was wonderful. Our waiter, Angela (or Angelica?) was really attentive and lovely. The only teeny tiny negative I could mention is the choice of roast veg was a bit strange. It consisted of roast bits of carrot and squash. A bit odd pairing with steak. Other than that, wonderful meal. Will definitely come back.More infoGaucho NewcastlePrice: Expensive• Steak• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.4
- NNigelLondon •17 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoExcellent Friday lunch during restaurant week with my father. Starters of double cheese souffle and game terrine with an excellent chutney, mains of chicken in tarragon sauce was polished off by dad and I had a very rich belly pork with black pudding and apple sauce, which was delicious, earthy and unctuous. Had an excellent cheese plate off the al a carte menu followed by rhubarb and ginger sorbet for us both. Coffee with delicious truffles rounded off the meal An excellent and competitive wine list, we had a bottle of Californian merlot which was very fruity, mellow which complimented the starters, followed by an Italian pinot nero which was a little lighter but delicious, for my money the merlot just had the edge. A plum sake with dessert really complimented the tastes of the sorbet. A very relaxing 3 hr lunch, restaurant was full and quite buzzy during the entire time, service was quick, polite and unobtrusive. An excellent lunch.More info21Price: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8
- MMikeNewcastle and Northumberland •10 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe've been to Cote in Wimbledon many times, and the one in Chichester, but never to the Newcastle branch. Cote is always reliable, so we expected to have a good experience, and we certainly did. Starting off by being welcomed with a glass of fizz each because it was my wife's birthday, which was a pleasant surprise (never quite sure if ticking those 'special occasion' boxes works, but this one did!). We also partly booked because it was Newcastle Restaurant Week, but by the time we'd upgraded ourselves with the steak frites and the wine we ended up spending about twice what we'd intended - but worth every penny. The staff were friendly and efficient, the atmosphere very pleasant (packed but not noisy), the food really good - I have to single out the chocolate mousse, which was divine, but the steak also was tasty, in fact it was all top notch. We'll definitely be back.More infoCôte Brasserie - NewcastlePrice: Moderate• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
