Elizabeth and I were very excited to open our restaurant in Downtown Stuart. After years of visiting our parents our hearts led us back here each time we considered a different location. Our son Taylor (our Executive Chef) and I, both have a culinary education and all three of us are extremely passionate about quality food,drinks and hospitality. We thoroughly enjoy taking great care of our guests. “the Gafford” is named after my grandparents who taught us how to enjoy life, have fun and laugh (especially at ourselves). My grandfather was in the Air Force and hospitality business all of his life and taught me so much about business, cooking and hospitality. I can remember when I was young visiting my grandparents on their farm. My grandfather used to teach me how to grill. My favorite dish to cook together was a giant Ribeye steak. On our menu, that is our signature item and we call it “the Gafford.” Welcome to the Gafford where casual meets upscale.

    We stopped in without a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, Zac, had served us before and we remembered that he was very friendly and helpful during that prior visit. He was again the excellent server, very helpful without being annoying, and friendly. Also during our mean, Lauren, the club manager stopped by and was just delightful. Our meals were excellent (deviled egg appetizers big enough to share), and main courses of snapper and spaghetti squash that were delicious. All in all a perfect night. Before we left, Zac pointed out that the restaurant adds an 18% service charge (in which he shares). But when I paid (electronically right at the table), I was able to add an additional tip for Zac. This is starting to be our favorite place to go in Palm City.

    What an incredible evening and experience. From the service by the amazing Kait, who is truly phenomenal at what she does, to the general manager Dominic, who is always so personable and kind, everything was exceptional. The food was outstanding across the board, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Oak and Ember if you’re looking to elevate your evening with amazing food, service, and atmosphere. My mom loved celebrating Mother’s Day here, and I can’t wait to recommend this place to others. A huge thank you to the Oak and Ember team for creating a night we’ll cherish forever.
