Set in a restored 1890 barn just minutes from Sunday River, it blends ski-town comfort with cellar-level credibility. Candlelight, high beams, and a room built for lingering, not rushing. Thai chili cauliflower is a fan favorite. Fresh oysters, scallop risotto, and local fish “your way” give depth without feeling fussy. Modern Barn drinks like a wine bar with something to prove. This continues to be an absolute gem in Rangeley! Our hostess and waitress, Erykah, was lovely and made the entire evening wonderful with her attentive service. We started with the crab cakes and the whipped feta, both of which were fantastic—the corn and bacon relish served with the crab cakes was the cherry on top of an already phenomenal dish. For entrees, we ordered the beef short ribs, haddock, and chicken parmigiana. Every single dish was a hit, with the short ribs and haddock being particular standouts. We wrapped up the night with the Belgian chocolate mousse, which was pure perfection.
