For over a century, patrons have found comfort in this historic inn nestled in the heights of the Meadowlands. Opened in the 1870’s as a stagecoach inn, travelers in horse and carriages, riding along Polifly Road (later named Terrace Avenue), stopped here to eat and drink in the tavern below and sleep in one of six guest rooms above. After the turn of the 20th Century the Inn evolved into a fine dining restaurant (a popular speakeasy during Prohibition), but eventually fell into disrepair. In 1996, the restaurant undertook an extensive renovation and on Valentine’s Day of 1997, the Inn once again opened its doors for fine dining, aptly renamed, Ivy Inn. Since reopening, the Inn has witnessed countless marriage proposals, weddings, and anniversary celebrations. Continuing its long legacy of hospitality under new ownership as of 2025, the Ivy Inn remains a Bergen County favorite and continues to promise cherished memories for many years to come.

    First time in with family and overall it was a good experience. Would consider this a solid place to eat with family or friends. Had some hiccups on service and food, but nothing where I would avoid returning. Much better than an Applebees or the like, but still a chain.

    Went on Valentine's Day for their annual event; the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. All of the waiters were excellent and we had a great time. Not to mention the great decor they thoughtfully put throughout the restaurant!
