- CCarolNew York City •4 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe received a voucher for Blackfriars for Christmas. Booking was easy online. We arrived slightly early but our table was ready. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived and enjoyed the background music. Service was very good and we asked if we could mix and match between the menu’s and they said it was fine to do that. We ordered the fish platter to share which was really nice. I ordered the fillet steak, it was perfectly cooked to the way I like it and the chips were amazing, I ordered the beef dripping jus which was delicious. My husband ordered the corn fed chicken, again this was delicious. We had no room for desert so can’t comment on that. My husband also had the larger brewed onsite which he said was very nice. Only fault I would say is they put a service charge of 10% on your bill but it is explained it is not mandatory. Definitely will be back.More infoBlackfriars RestaurantPrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6
- KKarenEdinburgh/Midlothian •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoFrom entering to leaving we were made to feel special. Absolutely fantastic food, the most delicious Sunday lunch ever. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, just enough crispness and the roast potatoes the same. The mash potato was the creamiest and smoothest potato you could imagine. The service was fantastic, professional but friendly and attentive, without being over bearing. The special side dish of Yorkshire pudding with beef brisket and creamed horseradish was delicious. Outstanding value for money.More infoBranches RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.9

- MMikeNewcastle and Northumberland •11 reviews5.0Dined on Feb 3, 2025My wife and I made our first visit to The Broad Chare for lunch, upstairs in the dining room, to celebrate my birthday, and what an excellent choice we made. We decided to mark the occasion by having the T-bone steak to share - we realised that neither of us had ever had that cut before - and I can't imagine it could be better. The meat was perfectly cooked, the blue cheese salad was delicious, it was a memorable dish. The starters were excellent as well - can't say much about the desserts because all we were capable of by that stage was lemon sorbet each! When we arrived there was only one other table occupied, but it soon filled up and was a really good atmosphere. Staff were all friendly and efficient. A bit pricy, but it was a birthday lunch and definitely worth it!More infoThe Broad CharePrice: Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8
