Lucky's Steakhouse was founded in 2000 at 1279 Coast Village Road, Montecito, California. Originally constructed as the Montecito Bungalows back in 1926, the building had changed hands many times over the decades and eventually began to succumb to the strain of its years of service. Local legend spoke of the location as being 'out of luck.' Gene Montesano believes that luck favors the bold so he, along with his friends Jimmy Argyropoulos and Herb Simon, took over the business and gave it the makeover it deserves. The location once again serves its community as LUCKY'S: Montecito's second living room.

    We had a wonderful experience at Lucky’s! The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We started with the shrimp cocktail and Hamachi crudo, both great choices. The breadbasket was also a fantastic way to start the meal, and the best part? The butter was actually spreadable! A small detail, but one that makes a difference! For dinner, we ordered the NY Steak, NY Peppered Corn Steak, Burger, and NY Cheesesteak Sandwich. Everything was delicious! The cheesesteak had a few too many mushrooms for my liking, but it was still very good. The Dirty Martini was fantastic, and the Apple Whiskey was just as delicious! You know a restaurant is doing something right when nearly every table is occupied on a random Tuesday night. Clearly, people love this place, and I can see why! My only disappointment was the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, it was cold, very hard to cut into, and tasted as though it may have been a day or two old. It definitely didn’t live up to the rest of the meal. Overall, a great dining experience with wonderful food, atmosphere, and service. We would absolutely come back!

    A spectacular meal. We did the Main Dining Room Tasting Menu. Every course was so carefully thought out, with unique flavors, top-quality ingredients and beautiful presentation. The trout and the lamb were two of my favorite dishes, but all were excellent. The traditional wine flight paired well and included a nice variety.

    Great food, amazing dining room experience. The service was top notch. We had the ceviche, aguachile, the chicken, duck, and all were amazing. We had drinks, talked and laughed all night.
