DANIEL DEL PRADOBorn in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chef Daniel del Prado is the child of parents of Spanish and southern Italian descent. After moving to the United States in his early 20s, del Prado began his culinary career in Colorado—cooking at night and snowboarding during the day. Upon moving to Minneapolis, he had the opportunity to work in some of the finest kitchens in the Twin Cities. In 2009 del Prado teamed up with his mentor, Isaac Becker, to open Bar La Grassa in the North Loop. When it came time for del Prado to open his own concepts, he burst onto the Twin Cities scene with his premiere Linden Hills restaurant, Martina, and opened the Oaxacan Mexican-influenced Colita just a year after. Chef del Prado has continued to open new and innovative concepts.

Founded by restaurateur Marno McDermott and former Green Bay Packers player Max McGee in 1975, Chi-Chi's quickly became a beloved staple in the American dining scene. Initially opened in Richfield, Minnesota, the restaurant stood out with its vibrant Mexican "eatery" concept, enticing guests with family dining in a Mexican garden atmosphere and offering superb food and pitchers of margaritas. By the late 1970s, McDermott and McGee had successfully expanded Chi-Chi's into major cities like Cincinnati and Indianapolis, with future plans for further growth in cities such as Detroit and Tampa.

During dinner hours, the entire restaurant is reserved for walk-ins. We do offer scheduled reservations for lunch and brunch, though they’re never required. For parties over 6 guests please call the restaurant to make a reservations. We have limited space for large parties.     Food was delicious. Our table experienced several choices and there were absolutely no complaints. Fajitas arrived sizzling, meatloaf was yum. And of course we all enjoyed the housemaid chips & salsa to begin. Though our server did seem a bit out of sorts this time(it may have just been a day for her) that has not been the previous experience. We will be back

    This is our favorite place for sushi prior to our season ticket shows at the Orpheum… It’s a must do every time we come downtown! We love to sit at the sushi bar and watch them create their masterpieces! Everything we’ve had has always been exceptional!
