All of our meats are “naturally raised” meaning no steroids, antibiotics or hormones and “humanely raised” meaning room to roam, proper shelter and gentle handling. We make every effort to buy only sustainably harvested seafood, primarily from the Gulf of Maine. We have consistently searched out New England farmers and fisherfolk to purchase product that is not only great tasting but great for the environment and local economy as well.

In season, our highly rated restaurant serves breakfast and dinner daily. Breakfasts at the Friar are hearty and healthy. Portions are generous and everything is made from scratch right here at the Black Friar Inn. Open to the public, breakfast is served from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. If you are staying at the Inn, your breakfast is included in the room rate.Each afternoon the Friar's Pub opens at 4 pm for happy hour, offering $6 house wine and drafts (Maine selections always on tap) and the company is fine. Flavorsome, generously portioned food. Natively sourced, and always fresh. Seafood is our specialty. It was pepper's favorite too!
