What a lovely Mother’s Day brunch we had! Every detail was attended to flawlessly. We were celebrating my granddaughter’s 16th birthday, which fell on Mother’s Day this year. From the time we were greeted at the hostess station until the time we left, we were treated extremely well. Service was over the top, seating was comfortable and the food was excellent. And a happy birthday Sunday for our granddaughter was especially appreciated.This was our second year to come to Gar Wood’s to celebrate Mother’s Day and you can be sure we will be back next year as well! The service was excellent the waitress was always asking if she could help with anything. The restaurant could use more people like her. The choice of tea’s was great and deserts were out of this world . The scones were a little small, they should be bigger.

We tried Big Water Grill for the first time when we had family visiting. The food and service was excellent. They advertise a Lake Tahoe view which you can barely see through the trees. Overall great experience.

We had a truly wonderful dinner last night, and everything about the evening felt just right. We started with the asparagus cauliflower soup, which was absolutely delicious—perfectly balanced with just the right amount of asparagus flavor, subtle seasonings, and a beautiful creaminess that made every spoonful a treat.The star of the meal was the halibut, which was outstanding. The combination of coconut ginger sauce and black garlic created a terrific marriage of flavors that complemented the fish beautifully. David’s sauces are truly brilliant—they elevate the dishes in such a thoughtful and delicious way.What made the night even more special was the quiet, intimate ambiance. It allowed for easy conversation and a delightful evening spent with my spouse. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the whole experience felt relaxed and perfect.We left feeling completely satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for a special night out!
