The food is always good here. The food and service as well as the noise level are better during the week but the weekends are still good just not as great due to the business of the restaurant. The prices are great considering most post covid restaurant pricing. The server was a little weird. Not sure if he was gay or on something that made him really hyper but we survived him thanks to his assistant. We go back every month. I highly recommend the rack of lamb and grilled Bronzino as well as the French fries. Great wine selection as well. Not quite five star but sometimes pretty close.

I had the spinach and shrimp salad that was just the best…many shrimp on top and the Dsg was excellent and not overpowering. My 2 friends ordered the vegetable quiche and they loved. Desert was incredible…crème brûlée ….one of the best. This is one of my favorite restaurants!

Great place with some of the best European food in town. Service always impeccable. Ambience very classy and absolutely adding a special touch. Passionate and very competent owner’s presence discrete but also value adding.

We always have a great experience at this restaurant. My steak was perfectly done to my request. Fries crispy and hot. A nice medley of veggies. My husband enjoyed his seafood dish and almost licked the plate. Drinks are generous and well made, and service is attentive and friendly. The restaurant was packed when we arrived and still packed when we left 1 1/2 hours later. It’s a popular spot and you need reservations especially on weekend nights.

We love the food and Geraldine as server. Escargots as appetizers —-yum!!! We come at least annually and more often but live too far away to come weekly. Children love the soufflés too.

Ambiance was very cozy and service was excellent. The bartender must have been new and looked like a fish out of water. The old fashioned he made was not very good. The food however was excellent and the onion soup was spot on fantastic. Our meals were delicious oh and the escargo was also exceptional. The soufflé was good but not great. Overall a definite gem of a place to return to.

FAQs

Yes, Lavendou Bistro is a popular pick for date night. Guests consistently praise the cozy, romantic Provençal atmosphere, attentive service from long‑time servers and the owner’s personal touch. Expect classic French dishes (duck, sole, steak) and standout desserts like Grand Marnier soufflé that make a special evening feel celebratory. Note: Friday–Saturday nights can be lively and a bit noisy, so request a quieter back table or an earlier reservation for a more intimate experience.

Portions at Lavendou tend to be generous, guests frequently mention hearty entrees with leftovers to take home. Dishes such as duck, tournedos and seafood specials are described as substantial, and specials like cassoulet and osso bucco are filling. If you prefer lighter meals, consider sharing an appetizer and entrée or saving room for their famous soufflé.

Choose weekday lunch or an early weekday dinner for a quieter experience. Guests say Tuesdays–Thursdays and midweek lunches are calmer. If you want a lively atmosphere, Fridays and Saturdays are bustling and festive but can be noisy, reservations are recommended on weekend evenings.

Lavendou offers a main dining room plus a back room that guests describe as a quieter dining area, and a covered patio that is dog‑friendly. There’s also a bar area for cocktails and a dedicated High Tea service area. The restaurant is intimate rather than having large private banquet rooms; private party options are not offered.

Lavendou has an authentic, cozy Provençal bistro vibe, warm, friendly and comfortably French. Guests describe it as charming, intimate, and excellent for celebrations. It can be energetic and at times loud on busy weekend nights, but many guests value the convivial, neighborhood feel and attentive service that make it feel like a little piece of France.

Smart casual. The restaurant information lists a smart casual dress code; guests typically dress nicely for special occasions like anniversaries and date nights but there’s no strict formalwear requirement.

Yes, the team encourages calls for special requests. High Tea requires 24‑hour notice per owner information, and many guests recommend calling ahead for dietary needs, allergy accommodations or to request a quieter table or patio spot. If you have specific accessibility or large‑party needs, call the restaurant to confirm.

Yes, families do dine at Lavendou and guests often celebrate birthdays and family occasions there. The menu includes approachable items (chicken crepes, pastas, salads) that appeal to younger diners. There isn’t a dedicated kids menu mentioned, so for younger children consider an early seating or call ahead to discuss menu flexibility.

Busiest: Friday and Saturday evenings (often packed and energetic). Quietest: weekday lunches and early weekday dinners (Tue–Thu), and mid‑afternoon High Tea service on weekdays tends to be calmer. If you prefer a quieter meal, aim for weekday lunch or an early weeknight reservation.

For a quieter, more relaxed experience go midweek (Tuesday–Thursday), particularly at lunch. If you want a festive atmosphere, Friday or Saturday evening delivers a lively dining room. Either way, reserve ahead, weekend seating fills quickly.

Yes for select holidays, Lavendou runs special services for holidays (examples include Valentine’s Day prix‑fixe menus and Easter brunch), so they open for certain holiday events. Because holiday hours and menus vary, call ahead and check for holiday‑specific reservations or prix‑fixe offerings.

Yes, guests specifically mention a dog‑friendly patio. Several reviews praise the covered patio as a comfortable outdoor option where dogs are welcome, so if you plan to bring a dog request patio seating when you call.
