Please keep in mind that proper attire is required including a jacket for gentlemen.
Excellent, excellent, excellent! Amazing food, outstanding wine list and exceptional service. The restaurant is expensive, yes, but it’s white-glove service all the way. This is a great spot for a romantic special occasion (especially if you can request a table on the intimate second floor).
Great food and service.
Sublime! I was treating a friend who recently completed her degree in nursing and passed the exam. It was a lovely experience, with wonderful food and a perfect roaring fire on a cold evening.
Service was exquisite and the entire experience could not have been improved in any way. Despite the formal look and feel of the place, everyone was extremely friendly and I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
My wife and I loved this place. It was beyond our expectation. Thank you.
We went to Les Nomades Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary (our third visit). The restaurant is lovely and has a calming vibe, which I prefer at a fine dining establishment, despite every table being occupied. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was outstanding, and the wine list is extensive. If you have a chance, go check it out. Just be sure you have plenty of room on your card LOL!
Perfect start to finish!!!
We are regulars at Les Nomades. This visit, we were there for restaurant week. The menu was excellent and, though it was specially priced well below their standard prix fixe menu, we received the same fine service and attention to detail.
I think we have a new favorite restaurant in Chicago. Everything was perfect and I am still thinking about my meal days later.
Les Nomades is the most authentic French restaurant in Chicago. First of all, the room isn't slick corporate interior architecture by the designer of the moment. Everything from it's historic townhome building through the art on the walls is an expression of the owner's vision of the proper setting in which to enjoy the experience. The dining rooms are cozy but with ample space and distance from your fellow diners. The service is upbeat, sincere, informed, instantly available when needed without being cloyingly familiar.....simply impeccable. Les Nomades interpretation of French cuisine results in the essence of flavors without the heaviness that can sometimes be found in traditional preparations. Don't miss it!!
We had been away from Les Nomades for some time and were eager to return during Chicago Restaurant Week. Nothing has changed: the same warm greeting from Mary Beth, the same astonishing cuisine of Roland, the same impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive service, the same knowledgeable yet un-stuffy advice, the same warmly elegant atmosphere and the perfect setting for a memorable date-night experience. Our only regret: not being able to enjoy the experience more frequently!
Superb meal. A traditional French fine dining experience. Meticulous service. The dishes are perfectly executed. The wine list is well curated. The prix fixe menu is an excellent value. Makes one realize the joy's of progressing through a five course traditional meal.
Spectacular experience. One of the last of the grand French restaurants. Extensive menu, well trained and unobtrusive servers and all around civilized dining experience.
Les Nomades is one of the best restaurants in the city for a romantic/quiet dinner. The food is awesome with a wide range of choices of outstanding quality from new inventive and tasty presentations to flawless delivery of old favorites such as desert soufflé's.
The only aspect better than the menu is the service. Attentive, informed and friendly staff enhanced the dining experience.
Exceptional service! Excellent food, well presented.
We have been going to Les Nomades for years and it is still fabulous! This meal may have been our best experience yet. It is certainly for special nights only as the price tag is hefty--but so worth it!
Exquisite food. It is pricey but well worth it to enjoy the creative courses. Prix fixe or order separate as I did, too much food if you don’t eat a lot. Modern menu. Ambiance was quiet and intimate for our date night
A great restaurant. Excellent food. The four course pre fixe menu is actually a bargain given the quality and quantity of the food. Service is impeccable. The meal was perfectly paced. This my wife's favorite Chicago restaurant.
Food was excellent, great service. We loved it.
The food and service was amazing. The pace of the meal is important to my wife and I. If we are going to spend $500 on dinner it should be a longer experience and they were perfect. Cute wood burning fire place. Staff was friendly and charming but not over the top. If in Chicago again I would go back!
Les Nomades has long been one of our favourite restaurants to celebrate special occasions. The food is exquisite, the service impeccable, the atmosphere elegant. It is expensive, but justifiably so. We love it and will return.
Timeless elegance and graciousness permeate the atmosphere at Les Nomades. From the warm greeting to the expert service to the impressive menu and exquisite preparations, this restaurant delivers on its promise. The wine list is especially noteworthy. Priced for special occasions, or those with large expense accounts, Les Nomades is nonetheless a true jewel and well worth it.
The food is superb, with a marvelous wine list, making Les Nomades the destination each year for our anniversary. A little slice of Paris in Chicago. Unfortunately the service and ambiance have deteriorated to the point where we will consider other options next year.
We had such a special evening. The restaurant was elegant with beautiful flower arrangements. The waitstaff was perfect. Very importantly, we could talk to each other and hear what was being said. The food was especially delicious as were the choices. It was elegant in every way and a real treat to be there.
Outstanding, as always and in all respects. Another great reason to visit Chicago.
great food and service — my favorites were the wild mushroom soup and tenderloin special. we’ll be back!
One of the best restaurants in Chicago. Located in a previous house, Les Nomades is a real gem. You don't feel like being in a restaurant, rather in a dining room. The set menu offers multiple choices for everybody. Delicate prepared French dishes, modern style. Impressive winelist
Fantastic birthday meal. We love this special place in the heart of the city
The best in Chicago... Exquisite menu, fabulous food, romantic rooms, charming hospitality accessible and FUN. There are good reasons this has been an institution for decades!
Food and service was great
Unfourtanetly there was a table with very loud people and made the experience very negative
I had forgotten how much I missed French cuisine. Absolutely stunning on all fronts.
Wonderful night. Perfect for celebrating or an intimate date.
Delicious, creative courses.
Truly an exceptional experience. We were on a business trip for our company and chose the restaurant for its location and reviews. What a find!!!! From the moment we entered we were greeted as special clients , we felt so welcome. The decor was perfect and food was outstanding. Their wine choices were brilliant and they helped us pair with our food impeccably. We look forward to traveling to Chicago again to make another trip here.
Every time we travel to Chicago, we a point to dine at this wonderful restaurant
Wonderful old school and very elegant French dining. Prices are high but worth the cost.
38th wedding Anniversary came on October 25, 2018
They returned again because of not just good, but great space and overwhelming great food for their palate.
Rochelle L has a 4 course dining experience, and Leonard E. added an additional course.
Each course left both of them wanting that to be a full meal... Yes, keep that course coming..
Hawaiian Ahi tuna tart, parmesan za’atar sable, confit tomato, zucchini, green beans, saffron sauce.
The favors were transferred with each bit. The Hawaiian Ali Tuna melted in your mouth, asking for one more piece.
Rochelle's Escargots, yellow tomato coulis, Roquefort cheese was enjoyed one snail at a time. The sauce the was surrounding the snails was supped up one by one, sometime accompanied by a crust of french bread.
The size of Rochelle Grilled Scottish Salmon, wild rice, cucumber and beet salad, eggless béarnaise was much larger then
Leonard's salmon in the previous course..
Leonard's Roasted duck breast and confit duck leg, Savoy cabbage, truffle corn purée, sauce Rouennaise.... make you him want more and just more ......
Grilled romaine, warm goat cheese salad, pomegranate, Honeycrisp apple, balsamic Caesar dressing was Leonard's 5th course.
One salad was teaser. They has to move on.
The service was well appointed for the evening and water glasses were never empty until the end....
Rochelle L. was well please with the selection for their anniversary....
Leonard E commented doing and after dining for 3-1/2 hours, they had not a care in the world.
The most classy, authentic French restaurant in Chicago. In an old townhouse in Streeterville. A Chicago gem for 40 years! Gentlemen must wear coats, although most choose a very nice suit. You will see absolutely no cell phones, or digital devices out on the tables. An oasis in a sea of loud restaurants.
The excellent food is matched with an exceptional wine list. Creative and competent cooking without any science experiments. A great escape from the ordinary, seems to be one of the last civilized restaurants around.
