Local Wine & Kitchen is the Main Line's newest wine bar and restaurant. Located in the heart Ardmore and opened in August 2014, Local offers a laid-back atmosphere with a passion for good food, wine and cocktails!

Our free flow kitchen focuses on utilizing the best local ingredients, while making dishes that are creative & innovative. In addition, our bar focuses on our love for wine, and strong craft cocktails. On your next visit- dine family style with us, and enjoy everything that Local has to offer!

The menu is somewhat difficult to navigate, as not all items seem truly "shareable." Portion sizes range from tiny to good-sized entree. With a shortage of servers, the pre-dinner drinks did not arrive until we were eating, so we had no wine with the meal. Still, the lamb lollipops with roasted cauliflower were very good, as was the eggplant parmesan. Friends were not so keen on the gorgonzola-flavored mac & cheese. The server was apologetic for the delays and very personable.

My wife and I agree on rating — was good but not great. We had the 3 cheese and 2 meat board and it was good and enough for two. The server was very good and brought extra bread upon request. BTW - they make their own breads and they are very good. I ordered a beer and it came in a. Title without a glass - would have expected a glass without request. Ambience is OK and bar seemed busy, especially considering that it was a rainy Tuesday evening. So, overall, worth a visit but not on the top of our area restaurants.

We shared 5 different plates and every dish was delicious! The ricotta tortellini and PERFECTLY COOKED Veal chop were the stars! Our server Olivia did a great job, especially since she told us it was her first week. We will be back

Bar scene is awesome. The bartender is super acknowledgeable in both wine and cocktails! The selection of both is fantastic! For dinner I enjoyed the cauliflower wings, and the cheese board. Both are always to die for! I highly recommend trying the strawberry tahini spread when you come in!

Local never disappoints. All dishes were delicious! Arancini, grilled caesar salad, tortellini, airline chicken, all great. Inventive craft cocktails. Our waitress (also the bartender) was knowledgable and fun to talk to.

Service was a little slow. The waiter waited until he came for our order to let us know that many items on the menu were unavailable. We would have appreciated knowing this when we sat down vs an hour later so we could properly make decisions on what to order. Food and drink were overall very good. I would go back but probably not on a weekend.

The food was very good and the atmosphere was chill. Good music playing. Sat in the back dining room. They are short staffed but you wouldn’t have known it. Our server Danielle was AWESOME!! She made the experience!

Love this place. Been dining here for yearsm and not only have they made it through the pandemic, but they've done so while making the food at least as good as ever, if not better. I ordered the lamb lollipops, which were scrumptious; they came with tzatziki sauce in a pool underneath, which meant that I could spoon on as much or as little as I wanted. The roasted cauliflower that came with it was also superb! We got a cheese plate as an appetizer, and it was both generous and tasty. And my cocktail was also delicious. Thumbs up on this place. Will be happy to keep coming here regularly.

Had an awesome time tonight at Local Wine and Kitchen for my wife’s birthday. Charcuterie board and wine flights to start. Risotto was fresh and light. Peruvian meatballs on a bed of orzo was to die for. They brought out a sea salt cheesecake for dessert with a candle in it for my wife. The best experience we could have asked for please do try them out ASAP.

I want to applaud the quality and creativity of the menu items. It is always a challenge to find a restaurant that please both of us. As a vegan in the suburbs, I struggle. The arugula and radicchio salad was exceptional, as was the tofu dish with pesto and puréed carrots. And I also appreciated the variety of “zero proof” cocktails. Very considerate for non drinkers. This place is a hidden gem.

I had dinner with my friend and we ordered the Mac and Cheese, Peruvian Meatballs, Octopus, Cauliflower Wings, Fries, the Daydream mocktail, the Sunburst mocktail, AND ended our meal with their delicious chocolate ganache. The Mac and Cheese was my favorite, it was rich, creamy, and filled with flavor. Everything was amazing and our server, Colleen was so friendly and attentive!! I also loved all the decorations they had up as they are preparing for Christmas! Can't wait to go again!

The food is excellent here, and our server was very nice. Only problem, like many places these days, is that they are very understaffed (and hiring). Took an hour to get a drink, but we felt so bad for our overworked server we didn’t complain. Love the ambience.

Literally do not have a single critique about this place. 1) Parking: There's a public, metered lot (2 hours, Mon - Sat, 8:00 - 18:00) literally right behind the restaurant. The steps of the restaurant's back porch lead to the lot. So incredibly convenient. 2) Service: Danielle, our server, was so funny and chill. She was earnest about making sure we we were taken care of but not at all in a trying-too-hard kind of way. As a former food service employee, I have a very high bar for what I consider good service (as I'm sure others in the industry do), and Danielle exceeded every expectation. 3) Menu: They have such an eclectic menu which usually would be a red flag but they manage to do it so well. They also have plenty of keto and gluten-free options! As someone who is suffering through keto, I hate being *that friend* who either doesn't order anything or drinks her dinner. I had their grilled (un-breaded) eggplant parm and was able to enjoy a hearty, real meal along with all of my friends. The grilled tomatoes that accompanied my entree were also stupidly delicious. So simple yet done so well. 4) Ambiance: The twinkly lights were so pretty and homey. Back porch also has a large table to fit 5 and at least three others for 2 that weren't too closely packed together (good for social distancing). 10 out of 10 would dine again!

The service was extremely slow even though we were the only ones there. EXTREMELY slow! And, the serving sizes were very, very small. Everyone left the restaurant hungry - in actuality when everyone got home they ate dinner. And, considering the portions, it was crazy expensive. We won't be going back.

I can not believe This place had been here for 6 years and this is my first visit. Gabi the bar server was awesome the food was great I had pan fried bronzino no bones lots of great fish very affordable also. pleanty of parking
