We went for lunch on our anniversary and had a great time. The service was top notch and the lunch trio was a good value. I had the cheese course, salmon and espresso. The cheese course was amazing and the salmon just ok. It was cooked perfectly just not a ton a flavor. My husband had French onion soup, the burger and espresso. His soup and burger were delicious. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back!
Went for my husband's birthday. Their customer service was excellent! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food is phenomenal too!
Our dinner at Loulay was awesome! Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and was delicious! Great restaurant for date night!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We've spent our last two wedding anniversaries enjoying their wonderful food, wine and service.
Always a pleasure to dine here! The Chef in the Hat is always energetic and create with his menu.
3rd visit to Loulay. Excellent service staff with the exception of the Maitre d'. We were 15 mins. early and he gave only a suggestion of the bar to wait the 15 mins. he basically said we arrived too early. He was not friendly. I couldn see online that the restaurant serves dinner beginning at 5:00pm and we arrived at 5:00pm...
We went around the corner to wait in the Sheraton lobby. When we arrived back at the restaurant to check-in the same man answered a phone in front of us and didn't pardon himself. He then took us all straight up the stairs to the 3rd. floor seating area. He vaguely indicated the coat rack on that level. Npo effort to help with the coats. I was never asked if we preferred to sit in the upper level. On the Open Table rsvns. we didn't see a choice. My guests were 78 years old. I would have preferred the main level, but rather than create a fuss, I said nothing. The entire experience aside from this was excellent.
Loulay has serveral areas for seating and if somehow the preference could be determined before arriving it would be better.
Always excellent food and service. Jennifer was excellent as all the wait staff has been!
Used to be a nice place- the service was slow, an we got easy meals- quiche, salad and eggs benedict, which were hard boiled. Really poor execution on all levels.
What a beautiful restaurant. Wonderfully designed with lots of space and a private feel in the booths. The food was delicious and hot and prepared well.
Only issue was the yelling out for orders and sometimes the dishes being slammed around.
Had a lovely meal here at a balcony seat that had a nice view of the street and restaurant. Food was excellent as were the drinks. Scallops and beef bourganaise (sp?) Were highlights
I had a reservation, was seated upstairs even though I am 81 years old and at a table next to the brown door. It felt like we were next to the kitchen or restroom. It should be painted the same as the wall color. Pretty expensive for a starter and first course. Ordered coffee with dessert but had to ask for a refill after lots of wait staff passed by our table without asking us. This is the worst table in the restaurant. After being seated and getting our coats off, staff never offered to take our coat or commented that there was a coat stand right near our table. I would think that in this class of restaurant, the staff gentleman should have offered. Saw the 3 suited staff gentlemen (not customers) gathered at front desk chatting instead of helping wait staff or chatting with customers. The Chef in the Hat would not have liked this. Food was good. I would reluctantly recommend this restaurant without warning them that be prepared to spend a lot.
Excellent service, very nice wine list by bottle or glass. Food was very good, not massive amounts but left you content after the meal. Great decaf coffee.
My friend and I had such a great time. Our waitress Talisha was a blast. We had a very entertaining chat and she gave us very helpful food recommendations, both flavor profiles and based on our appetites. Gem salad and salmon with ancient grains were spot on. She also recommended the chocolate passion fruit dome which I think was the best dessert I've ever tasted.
Atmosphere is so beautiful, we were in a booth and it was nice and quiet.
Not too expensive. I'd definitely return.
Great food. Service can be a little faster. The value on my opinion was a little high for how much food you get. But overall still had a great experience.
The best thing was the desert. Nothing special. Does not worth it the price
We decided to treat ourselves to their Prix Fixe menu for our anniversary/new years dinner. We are picky dinners and the food was wonderful with a few exceptions. The wine list is exceptional.
Finding a decent place for dinner on New Year's Eve is often a roll of the dice - so many restaurants try to move a lot of diners through, push extra drinks and serve mediocre food. Happily, Loulay is not one of them. Our dinner this week - chef's menu with wine pairings - was outstanding, as was the service. Highly recommended - and we'll be back!
Anniversary Dinner. Service was super and food fantastic. Just the ambiance is not cozy.
There were 5 of us and we all ordered different things for brunch. We shared some bites and in the end we all were a little disappointed. Everything was fine but nothing was remarkable.
Pleasant staff. Exceptional waitress with bright smile.
Great place, staff does a great job on timing before a show at the 5th Ave Theater.
Great ambiance matches it’s great food!
The French onion soup and burger were superlative. We are all still talking about how wonderful our meal was. Our waitperson was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Cocktails were delicious. Sitting in the cozy booth makes lunch feel like a special occasion. Going back soon for a repeat.
snappy service, tasty menu - a great options for a lunch spot
Service was excellent -- attentive but not intrusive. The only con was the onion soup was too salty. Everything else was lovely.
Our go-to Seattle eatery. Can’t go wrong w any time of day meal.
Went for my birthday. Amazing service and staff. Food was delicious and they worked with our tables allergies. Overall would recommend 100% to anyone!
The waitress and kitchen were terrific about accommodating my sons vegan diet
I went twice in one week it was so good! The food is amazing. Thank you!
I love this restaurant, its food and the staff. We are always warmly welcomed and the food and service are outstanding.
I was running late for my brunch reservation and called. The staff member kindly held my table for me. As I arrived I was shown to a nice upstairs table overlooking the kitchen. The food and the service were excellent.
We usually adore Loulay's. It's one of our favorite restaurants after Rover's closed for a special occasion meal. We were headed to see the Gingerbread creations at the Sheraton and decided to have Sunday brunch beforehand. We had a reservation but once seated we waited for over 10 minutes before anyone stopped by. Our waiter was gracious but made many mistakes that marred our experience. He messed up the description of the specials and my son ended up with a very mediocre Eggs Benedict that was overpriced simply because there was horseradish in the hollandaise. While he apologized one would have thought that he would have taken the mistake off of our bill. He did not. When brunch costs close to $100 for three people with tax and tip, I expect better service and quality than the neighborhood diner. Sunday Brunch was a big miss this time.
Most of the dishes we got were delicious. There was a surprise taste before the food we ordered came out that was interesting and tasted great. The sea scallops were by far the favorite thing we got, followed by the Peanut Butter S'mores dessert. Portions were small for the price, but with the amazing service and high culinary artistry in everything we received, it was worth it. Drinks were reasonably priced for a higher scale place as well.
We chose brunch at Loulay to celebrate three birthdays in our family. It was a lovely experience. Started with Beignets, which arrived puffy and hot with a fruit compote and cardamom creme anglaise. I confess I wanted to lick the plate when they were gone. While we love the eggs benedict at Loulay, two of us opted for the Steak and Duck egg with bacon, vegetable hash and sage sauce. It's one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The Croque Madame did not disappoint. French onion soup and quiche were flavorful and authentic. We'll be back when we aren't at Luc--the Madison Valley gem also owned by Thierry Rautureau--our favorite Seattle chef.
Excellent for a working lunch. Food was great and portion sizes were not the typical ludicrous American sizes... wish I had gotten to try wine or cocktails - had an extensive list!
Always a wonderful time dining here. The staff is great and the fantastic meal always stays on my mind well after I have the restaurant. The personal attention makes me feel very welcome. I look forward to dining here soon.
From starting with a cocktail in the Bistro bar, to the final check, my wife and I had a great time! We arrived a bit early, but still got a great table right away! All the service was excellent and the food delishious! Money wise, it started to add up quickly, but it was what I expected and worth it.
I'd been to Loulay with friends, and came back with my husband because I knew he'd enjoy it. The food is delicious, carefully prepared with the finest ingredients. We had scallops - I make these at home but they are nothing compared to the magnificent scallops served here. French onion soup is a must. Cheese and fruit plate for dessert with coffee is another highlight. The menu wasn't extensive, with no pasta options for instance. But we found wonderful options and had an excellent meal. A bonus - The Chef in the Hat was just leaving and gave us the usual warm welcome and genuine friendly banter that made it that much more special.
