A great way to begin a Sunday. Outside table on a beautiful morning. Our server - Ariel - was superb! Our burgers cooked exactly as requested, delicious and creative. The crispy brussel sprout salad I'll need to replicate at home it was so good. Chicken & waffles and Huevos Rancheros looked fabulous. A wonderful dining experience all around.
food was good but my friend and I found hairs in it which ruined our appetite, we didn’t complain because our waitress was nice and we had a gift card to the restaurant so we weren’t wasting our money.
Good, but too expensive. Would return to take advantage of happy hour.
Bday good tim
It’s our favorite brunch spot. Period
The food was good. The prices are a little steep. It was a Saturday night at 7 pm and the place was not even 50% full. May want to decide what that is?!?! Prices probably. Service was lackluster. Dishes were just dropped at table with no explanation. No dishes or silverware were replaced. Lack of attention to detail. I’d say without some sort of “decision” to improve this place will close in 3-6 months.
Very poor food, 9 dollar plus tax for a sparkling water..... Wont be going back
The food was good but they are small plates intended to share and I feel like our waitress mislead us as to how many dishes to order and we ordered too many. I suggest starting with just a few and then ordering more later on if you're still hungry because some of the dishes are large and can be stand alone meals.
Small and intimate. The food was delicious. Loved the bacon wrapped dates and the cheese platter. Service was terrific too!
Ordered the Mac and Cheese and the Bacon Wrapped Dates. So delicious! My date and I shared
Delicious food selection! The chopped salad was delicious, and I will definitely be going back for the mac and cheese.
The 3 star review is for the service ONLY! Andrea was our waitress and she was fantastic! She checked on us constantly and kept asking if we were enjoying ourselves and at one point we were not. We started out with the brussel sprouts salad which was great and reminded me of the original brussel sprouts salad at Sunda....It seemed as if the recipe was "borrowed". After the amazing salad, we tried the tuna poke and that's when we had a serious problem. It was very fishy and we could taste that it had been previously frozen which is the same type fish you get at Jewel Osco. Ditto with the octopus....terrible. Crab Cakes were just ok, if you like corn in your cakes, which I don't. Chicken skewers were not grilled, but baked and lacked flavor. Chicken lollipop wings were equally as bad. I have NEVER dined and left food on plates to be taken away. We were still hungry and since we practically ordered everything that sounded good to us, the only thing left was chicken and waffles. Andrea had told the manager about our issue with the tuna and he agreed to give us c&w's, but at a discounted price of $4 off the price.
The c&w's were good and I see why they're a top seller.
Needless to say, I won't be back, but if you go, ask for Andrea....what also makes her great is that someone at another table left their sunglasses and she actually ran an entire block to make sure they got their glasses back. Now that's customer service!
Service was attentive but light and friendly. Food was really tasty! Cocktails were fun. Not a cheap place. An adult and two kids ended up to be pretty pricey. Perfect venue for before a United Center show.
Wait staff is extremely attentive! 2 hour bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys and you can switch them out. Food was great. Nice vibe for brunch and sports viewing
Great brunch. The chicken and waffles was amazing.
The food and service were excellent as always. We will definitely return.
MAD Social was great for a birthday dinner with a group. I also went for brunch and it was fantastic. Lively environment without being too loud, really great food too.
Fantastic hostess! Great service is what can separate good dining experience to a great one. On waitress was wonderful, friendly without being intrusive. Knowledgeable about the menu and very efficient. Food was delicious. One of the best chicken and waffles in the city. I am bringing my brunch bunch!
The brunch is one of my favorites in the city; however, the service was not that great. We had to remind our server a few times to bring things, and she didn't just refresh our coffee without being asked. She didn't know much about the wine list, and we had a to wait a while for her to check on us. I've had better service here before, so I don't think that this is necessarily indicative of what to expect.
The breakfast burrito - truly amazing. You won't regret ordering it.
Food was overpriced, even for the west loop. The server was unwelcoming and addressed my wife and I as "ladies" (note, I am no man's man, but am clearly not a woman). Lastly, the place makes getting water very difficult. We had to ask to first get a glass to begin with, then for each refill.
We got the chicken lollipops, poutine and the bacon-wrapped dates...fantastic. All of them. I definitely want to go back to try more.
Went there before a concert. Cute place and our waitress was great. The food was good but very pricey for what we ordered. Kale salad average size was 14 dollars and with chicken about 3 oz brought it up to 18 dollars. Good salad but not for that price . Brussels sprouts where good, and enough to share, but 14 dollars was to expensive . Overall had a nice time and cute place but too expensive for the amount and type of food.
This place combines the strangest ingredients, but they work! Everything was delicious, our server was helpful and friendly, and the setting is cozy but also energetic at the same time.
Enjoyable and friendly, but very noisy on a Friday night.
Tried MAD Social for the first time on a whim. Will definitely be back! Everything was excellent - food, drinks, service. A real find!
I enjoyed the food, but the service was only so so. The waitstaff would be absent for long periods of time, and when we would request more coffee or water, they would refill half a cup of half of the people at our table, and then walk away. The food was delicious, but they need to improve their customer service.
My favorite neighborhood spot, great wine choices, great service, and great Wagu burgers! I go often....and would recommend
We frequently dine at Mad Social and its always enjoyable. The only reason we didn’t 5 Star it is because if it’s busy then it’s not only difficult to get into the door but it’s just too crowded.
On our way to take our daughter to camp at the University of Notre Dame, we stopped in Chicago. Since it was Father’s Day we looked for recommendations for the best brunch and we found MAD Social. We made a reservation and headed there. As soon as we arrived the service was friendly and welcoming, and the servers looked like a close knit group of friends. We tried the SHORT RIB BENEDICT
(braised Korean style short ribs, toasted pretzel buns, brussels sprouts kimchi, togarashi hollandaise, house potatoes). If you like eggs benedict you will love these! We also ordered pancakes, which were amazing. If you are in Chicago this is a keeper.
yummy! great food.
We waited for outside seating but experienced very cold service . Customer service is not good.
We had supper here while we were in town for a local conference and it was wonderful!!! Everything we ordered was fantastic and our server was fabulous. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles - best I've ever had! Would definitely come back next time we visit Chicago.
Delicious food and cocktails. Must try the churro waffle and chicken!
Small but mighty menu! Many items for sharing, helpful recommendations from wait staff. Brussel Sprouts were awesome, and MAD Burger was perfect! Music is loud and 'electronica', pretty annoying!
The good was great! We loved the small plates to share and try a variety. Enjoyed our dinner!
My hairdresser recommended this restaurant today when I told her we were going to a concert at the UC. She actually made the reservation for us. I have to say my husband and I loved it!! The food was amazing as well as the service. I can’t wait to go back!!
The food was amazing! Best French toast I’ve ever had!
Our server, Keegan was not good. We were there for 2 hours - he never refilled our water. He gave me the wrong drink on my second order (I ordered the same drink as my first drink). We asked for separate checks (there were 2 of us) and he said "ok so you just want me to split the check down the middle?" Plus, he couldn't remember what we each ordered. He didn't seem to have a clue what was going on! Due to the poor service, I will not go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I love this place, but was disappointed that the air was not correctly wasn't informed of this before we sat down. Sunday was one of the hottest day's we had, so it was miserable. Overall the food is great and they have great customer service, just the air was a downer, especially since we weren't informed until I said something, once I asked for the check.
Enjoyed a date night sitting at the bar. Good food and cocktails
