Maple & Ash
What Insiders Are Saying
Maple & Ash sits in the middle of the Chicago steakhouse Venn diagram. It’s both new-school and old.
Great dinner, great place!
Our 3rd visit, totally delicious food and great service!!
I’ve never felt more celebrated or hosted at a restaurant before! They texted me before to know the details about my birthday (how old I was turning etc), and welcomed us with open arms! They printed the menu with my name and birthday information with it. The food and ambiance was out of the world. Best experience ever!!
Was at this rest a few weeks ago and throughly enjoyed it. Tonight it was just outright awful. Ordered a $175 tomahawk steak medium and it came out ice cold rare. The replacement while cooked a lot better was still tough and chewy. Very disappointed and I’m not sure I’ll return!
Such attentive staff! The food was delicious and the ambience was 👌🏽
I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place deserves it. On top of the food being amazing, all of their employees are friendly, outgoing and have awesome customer service skills.
My wife traveled with me to Chicago for a business trip, and we chose Maple & Ash for dinner. What a treat! From start to finish, it far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Chicago!!!
Excellent food and service
Jiamie. Best waiter
Excellent food, service, wine list and very cool ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
The food was good. The Server was great. The manager was HORRIBLE. I am using a more polite language about the manager. The steak I ordered was cooked incorrectly. I told the Server. She agreed. Then the manager comes and tells me it is correct. I did not ask for a free steak or I did not ask or act like I wanted something for free. All I said was the steak is cooked to the wrong temperature. The manager comes over and argues basically saying I don't know what I'm talking about. Then they did bring me a new steak, however the 2nd steak was cooked incorrectly. I did not say anything. I ate half and then paid my bill and left. Maybe I wasn't the right type of customer. Not sure, but the manager was HORRIBLE. When I was leaving he saw me and walked into the coat room or wine room to avoid me. Didn't expect a restaurant of this caliber to have staff act in that manner. Majority of the food was good, but I will not return to Maple & Ash. I'm sure losing one customer means nothing to them. I mean I guess "who am I?" so the manager can act however he wants. Good luck to them. I'm sure they will succeed without me as a customer.
It was a fantastic experience for the whole family!
Celebrating my sons 25th birthday at their brunch! We think it’s the best restaurant in Chicago, a must see! Waiters are fantastic!
60th birthday brunch!
Probably the best brunch ever. The staff was warm, friendly, welcoming and professional.
The brunch stations were all incredible. The salad bar was individually tossed with delicious options.
The carving station was filet mignonette with caviar, truffle butter and was amazing. The bacon was cooked perfectly
As was the top notch ravioli stuffed with butter and truffles. The seafood delivered was clams, jumbo prawns and scallops. A bit greasy and I hate peeling shrimp. The desert station was all very good. Highly recommend this place
My cousin 32nd birthday and her first time at Maple and Ash. She enjoyed herself! Great experience
Everything was phenomenal from service down to the food. We did the I dont give a f*** chefs choice dinner and it was incredible!
M&A is wonderful! They started by accommodating my seating preference, which I greatly appreciated. We chose a favorite burgundy from their extensive wine list. Then dinner started with M&A’s unique and ever-delicious roasted seafood tower. Wagyu with a side of wild mushrooms was the fantastic entree. For dessert, we gave in and had the sundae service, which included our choice of every side and topping we’ve ever dreamt of. We LOVE ❤️ M&A and will be back.
Love this place, worth the cost! It has a beautiful ambiance and the food is amazing.
Excellent. Every other review takes the words right out of my mouth. They do not disappoint, at any turn.
Waiter was amazing but the hostess area was a terrible experience. The hostess checked us in and then forgot about us... after 90 minutes of waiting for a table we were finally seated. They never called our name or came to check on us. By the time we went to sit down, we were the only people in the waiting area and the last people to leave the restaurant. Horrible.
We were visiting from Portland, Oregon; 35th anniversary get-away. Dinner at Maple & Ash was the highlight of our trip.
Made my birthday even more special! Loved the extra touch of the birthday menu. Of course the bone in cowgirl ribeye was delicious and cooked to the perfect medium rare. 😋
We had an amazing time at Maple & Ash. We can not wait to go back. Norris was our server and he is the best in the business. We took our 5 year old. Which normally I we would not to a place of this caliber, But Norris and his team made him feel like a king. Even down to his own special drink. The service was outstanding. Food has to be some of the best in Chicago if not the entire US. I would highly recommend Maple & Ash to anyone and everyone. It is a must try if you are in Chicago. First class in all aspects.
It was a great place for a birthday dinner!
The personalized service and food was fabulous. Really helped make our celebration memorable. Our server Daniel was excellent.
The Dover sole was dry and needed a sauce to go with it
Amazing experience!!!! Best waiter (Dan) and the good was incredible.
This was my and my boyfriends second time back at Maple and Ash because after the first time we knew we couldn’t go just once! Excellent service, food, cocktails, and ambiance, Maple and Ash is the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Can’t wait for the next time!
Great food; great service!
This place is definitely great for special occasions.
We went for brunch on Sunday at 2pm- It was a weekend away in the city.
We didn’t realize it was buffet ONLY until we sat down and no price was listed. While the food tasted great, it was mostly all cold when eating it because of the egg station wait time. Waiter should have suggested going first, or something for a better experience.
For $60 a person, besides for having filet minon, I don’t feel the value quite equates for pancakes and potatoes.
Great place and great service, food was good and the French onion soup excellent. We had the platter of sea food, which was pretty good, the sauce was very flavor full. I did expect more for the prices, but it is what it is. I did not like that the shrimp was not deveined, for a 200 plus dollar bill I would think they would at least do things that lower level restaurants do. But over all great night and my girl got a happy birthday menu to take home, which was nice.
It was my first time going and I enjoyed it. The restaurant is beautiful, the workers there are very nice and welcoming. The food is delicious and the menu is accommodating to anyone’s palette. I would definitely go back.
Spencer, our waiter, was very nice and informative. Spencer gave us a lot of recommendations and attended to our every want and need. Matt, one of the managers, was very welcoming as well. Can’t forget about the cocktails and desserts, they were phenomenal.
Fantastic experience at Maple and Ash.
Our server Spencer was fabulous! He really took care of us.
Amazing service with delicious food. Spencer made the experience one we won’t forget
Our experience was over-the-top incredible! Sandra was amazing and she made everything absolutely perfect! This was my favorite dining experience to date. You are doing everything perfectly! Cheers!
The service was incredible
Everyone made my daughter’s birthday very special. Food was tremendous. Excellent vino. Top notch. Looking forward to our next outing to M&A
Fabulous establishment with first class service, food and one memorable wine list. The steaks are off the hook and the ambiance is lively but not overwhelming.
Amazing restaurant. Very close walking distance from Viceroy. Waiter was outstanding and rib eye steak was the best we have ever had! Loved the candelabras.
