We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with bar service and an extensive wine and cocktail selection.
Mixto offers outdoor dining with a South Beach Miami ambiance during the spring, summer & fall when the weather permits.
Really disappointing despite all the great reviews. I called to let them know that I was running 10 minutes late and the woman who was on the phone cut me off by saying "You're mumbling". I was honestly a little shocked that she would say that to a guest when I was not mumbling whatsoever! It was loud in the restaurant and she couldn't hear me, but she could have been WAY more professional than telling me I am mumbling? Very weird.
When we get there, the woman at the front takes our name and makes a call upstairs and tells us to walk up there for a hostess to take care of us. When we got up there, the woman at the hostess stand seemed confused and it took a minute for her to walk us to a table - not a big deal but still strange considering the main hostess just called up to her.
When we sat we were greeted - Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. We ordered the empanadas which were good, but nothing amazing. I ordered the scallops with risotto - it was great! However it was somewhat surprising to get three scallops over risotto for 26 dollars. My fiance ordered the seafood paellea and it was slightly underwhelming. Our waitress never checked on us and we waited 20 minutes after finishing for her to come over. Overall just a disappointing experience for what we spent.
Amazing place. Amazing food . The mojitos were so big. Lol I fell in love with the place
Night with friends
it was delicious. the grilled octopus is a favorite.
Food was delicious, waiter (Vicente) was awesome. Would definitely go back!
Food was AMAZING
place was super nice
Had an amazing time
Great option for brunch. Not packed like some other spots in CC on the weekend, so you don't feel rushed to leave. Good portions for the prices. The water glasses seemed a bit dirty, even our waitress insisted on switching glasses before pouring water. But otherwise, good service and ambiance.
Drinks are expensive and a little weak but food was fabulous! Didn’t feel rushed and throughly enjoyed the experience!
Always a great experience. Good food and great margaritas
Enjoyed a great meal with friends. So nice to visit in the warm weather when they have the windows open. Service was great.
They were right on time with our reservation time. We arrived a little early and had drinks and appetizers at the bar. It was Pride Sunday so the crowd was a little boisterous, but nothing out of control just a little loud. The filet tips were delicious. Overall a great experience.
Amazing delicious food, service, atmosphere. We’ll certainly be back!! Loved it!
Just had a taste for Cuban food and I know they have the best In Philly.
It took a good while for a server to come around, but once he did, the bad taste in our mouths slightly went away. However, a Modelo ordered on tap came completely flat and we were brought a bottle of Corona. We came during happy hour, but we were still hit with the regular price of the Latin drafts, which we ensured was fixed on the bill. Food was great otherwise.
TL;DR- this place has interesting food and is worth trying.
My parents took us here for my birthday. I chose it because we are pescatarian and wanted a place that had some fish options as well as vegetarian ones. We had a terrific seat by the window which was nice and the windows were open so we could engage with people outside. No one was sitting outside the window but there was a table set up there and I think that would have been kind of crowded. The service was meh. We had one server come over and then another come over several minutes later. My cocktail was served with the meal instead of beforehand which was kind of weird but I was the only one who ordered a drink so maybe it's not? The food was served quickly and the dishes varied from "fine" (my father's) to excellent (mine). My father got the tilapia, my mother the salmon, my husband some chicken and chorizo dish which he basically licked the bowl of, and I got the vegetarian paella which was excellent. We had made early reservations and toward the end of our meal the place started to fill up. We had all finished and then waited a solid 20 minutes before we saw any of the servers again to ask for the check. She asked if we wanted dessert or coffee after we requested the check and had she asked before I might have said yes but by that point I was done. Also, the sea bass was $42 which is a ridiculous amount, also considering that the rest of the fish dishes were in the low 20s. I hadn't looked at all of the prices when I chose the place and was really disappointed at that price hike.
I was so excited to come back to Mixto since it's been years since my last visit. My best friend and I came by after wedding dress shopping as a celebratory brunch with $6 mimosas!
Unfortunately, our service /server of Olga left much to be desired. We were only able to order 1 round of mimosas because she never came back to check on us except the one time RIGHT after the food came out. One of my biggest pet peeves is when the food comes out, we have clearly not even touched the food yet - and they ask how the food is... but after that, she never came back, NOT ONCE. MULTIPLE times she would pass us by the table behind us, or in front of us - and she would never even glance or attempt to make eye contact because by the 3rd time I raised my hand and she still didn't see. My friend and I gave up on getting mimosas because we were so turned off by the service we just wanted to get our check and get out of there and go somewhere else.
The food was good. I enjoy their fried cheese and their rice and beans are delicious. We both ordered the Costa Rican breakfast.
Unfortunately the inexcusable lack of service completely took away from the whole experience including the food. I will not waste my time or money back here again, very poor experience. I would not recommend this establishment based on my experience.
First time back in awhile. Service was super slow, especially for drinks. We got our cooked appetizers before our beers. Food wasn’t as good as I remember from 3 years ago.
Guacamole and octopus appetizers were fantastic!
Everything about Mixto was wonderful . We ordered the frozen Passion Fruit Margarita, Apple Soda and Fresh Squeeze Passion Juice . For appetizer we had the calamari. It was delicious , one of the best we’ve had in a while . For entrees we ordered :
- Churrasco ( Medium-Well) with grilled veggies and fried yucca
-Pernil with Rice and Beans, Maduro, side salad , a potatoe pancake and a side of avocado
-Chicken Breast with lemon butter sauce , grilled veggies and tostones
Everything was wonderful. We had absolutely no complaints . Although we wanted to get a dessert , we were stuffed . We would’ve gotten the Mixto Trio , which is a sampling of their popular three desserts . The bill was reasonably priced for everything we had .
Definitely will be back on my next visit to Philly.
Food and drinks were delicious.
Service was fair - seated quickly and appetizer order was taken and came fast. Had to ask the busboy to send our waiter back to take our regular order though so a long wait between courses. Dessert order took a long time too, and out of one of the choices very early in the evening. Could just have been an off night for him. I’d give it another go if I’m in town again.
Sunday Brunch withe the girls, indoor al fresco seating with windows open was perfect. Food was fantastic, server was attentive and cocktails were creative. Planning our next visit back!
The service was great and the food was spectacular. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Philadelphia! We will definitely be returning.
My fiancé proposed to me here February 19, 2019 and after that I continue going because their food is on the bottom amazing the actual location itself is beautiful and I have taken already a few of my friends and they are inviting others as well
It was wonderful we love this restaurant
Exelente servicio,la comida espectacular ybuen lugar para disfrutar.
Great Cuban food and drinks.
I am always looking for the out of the way gem when I travel and Mixto will be one of my standards from now on in Philly. Great atmosphere with the front windows open. Service was good, considering how crowded it was. We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation and while the tables were close together it was still a very comfortable dining experience.
Not the best choice for groups. Although they say they can do 2 checks per table, they slam everything onto one and leave you to fight it out. So annoying.
It was a busy night so I understand not everything will be quick, but a little more attention from our server would have been nice. Our drinks kept getting dry.
Great food, great wine, great service. Took my client here for dinner and we absolutely enjoyed everything about it.
Good experience. Drinks were good, food was good too! Would go back.
Loved coming here for a night out time after time but honestly was disappointed. After the terrible service of waiting around as the waiter was just socializing and having to ask for him on multiple occasion (1 of 4 tables left for the night). The food was also off for the night proteins cooked wrong.
Amazing ambience! Great service. I am a vegan so it’s a great spot for meat eaters and vegans alike to enjoy a fantastic dining experience!
Purposely made a reservation in advance.
Restaurant was 3/4 empty.
Seated on the back corner.
Very good salmon dish and my tablemates reported enjoying their meals as well. Very pleasant server.
Went there for happy hour. Mojitos were great. So were the appetizers. Great deal
Very nice place for a date or a family dinner. Great food, good portion, service is spotty.
Had brunch and it was very reasonably priced and delicious
Had a good time
Great food as always
Mixto is always a great meal, fun atmosphere, and delicious drinks that are different from the mainstream. It’s a great staple in Philly that not everyone knows about but should!
