If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, Mistral is the perfect choice. We were celebrating an 18th birthday, and it couldn’t have been better. The welcome was warm, and the thoughtful touch of a personalised menu with Happy 18th Birthday written on it was a lovely surprise that made the evening feel truly special. The seared Hudson Valley foie gras was a real treat and cooked to perfection—something we always order when it’s on the menu—with the added shredded duck being especially delicious. The tuna tartare was fresh and fragrant, and the Hudson Valley foie gras parfait was beautifully soft. Requesting extra brioche was no trouble at all. For mains, we indulged in the rack of lamb, which arrived beautifully presented with four plump chops cooked perfectly medium rare. The sirloin steak was juicy and, once again, cooked to perfection. Paired with sides of creamed spinach and truffle fries, there was nothing left on the plate. We managed to save room for dessert and opted for the crème brûlée, a household favourite. It arrived complete with birthday wishes and a candle—another thoughtful touch. Our server, Alana, was fantastic: cheerful, attentive, and a pleasure throughout the evening. We will definitely be back for our next celebration.
