Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine. The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans. Reservations are preferred.

We had only one night in New Orleans, and wanted to make our only dinner a special one. The Chloe did not disappoint! We secured a reservation at the time we wanted and were seated quickly in the dining area we selected. Our server, Taylor, greeted us immediately and was helpful in describing the dishes along with sharing her own experience with tasting them. We loved every item we ordered! We made some great memories and won’t forget our time at The Chloe!

First time at this spot, it had been suggested by locals. Very impressed on all levels. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Water service was immediate. Our main server, Toni Mae, was helpful and efficient. She answered my menu questions with understanding. She was assisted by 2 others. We had the crab beignets, local greens, Turtle Bolognese and butterscotch pudding. I give each course 5 stars. Great dinner and service, in a local gem. It was we were hoping for, not touristy.

We were in town for 5 nights and ate here 2 nights in a row! It was a convenient and easy streetcar stop. The service was great. Both nights we dined on the porch along St. Charles Ave and enjoyed the ambiance and views. The first night I had the Pecan Crusted Gulf fish and my husband had the Pasta De La Mer. The second night, I had the Salmon Lafitte and he had the Blackened Fish Sandwich made with Red Fish. All our food was excellent. I particularly loved the orzo that the salmon was on and my husband kept raving about his food both nights. (He is never usually impressed with restaurant food.) The portions were all good size. I enjoyed the Frozen French 75 cocktail which I had both nights. We highly recommend this restaurant.
