I tried the Coolinary Menu. The scallops on goat cheese grit cake, 6 oz. center cut filet mignon and the bread pudding beignets. All were fantastic. Our server was Darrell, very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask for him. We met the Chef and got a tour from the owner, A.J. Tusa, Jr. On of the best dining experiences in the 5 years that I have lived in New Orleans. More

OAK OVEN is, first and foremost, a casual neighborhood restaurant dedicated to providing reasonably priced, high-end quality food, healthy meal options and impeccable service. The menu is heavily influenced by the Sicilian heritage of the restaurant’s founders. Their ancestors began arriving in New Orleans in the 1870’s and quickly melded into the fabric of the Crescent City. OAK OVEN’s award-winning fare celebrates this fusion of Sicilian, Italian and New Orleans culture. The restaurant centers around an authentic, Mugnaini wood-burning pizza oven and the famous, Neapolitan-style pies it produces. The ambiance created by the dancing flames inside the oven is both magical and primitive. The “from scratch” kitchen and unique, one-of-a-kind flavors transform dining at OAK OVEN into a divine experience.More

Discover New Orleans

French, Spanish and Creole influences evolved New Orleans cuisine into a genre all its own. Combine Gulf coast seafood, a butter-based sauce and Cajun spices, and you’re looking at a classic Nola dish. Take the famed crawfish boil, for instance, which locals advise is best eaten as a family. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the restaurant industry banded together to support their city in the wake of serious devastation. New restaurants began opening their doors, and today you’ll find a wealth of cuisines that span the classics to modern reinventions to everything in between.
