We know it is no fun to wear a mask while enjoying a night out, but our staff's safety is no laughing matter.
We require all guests to wear a mask while moving about the restaurant, and when speaking to Clyde's employees.
Masks have been a hot topic, with passionate views on all sides. With our team and their families' health at stake, we must err on the side of caution. We hope you will understand and look forward to the day, hopefully soon, when we can all throw our masks in the trash.

Oysters on the half were perfect size and very tasty. We all enjoyed our meals. Mike, our waiter was extra attentive. Great experience.
I can’t say enough great things about our experience. We were visiting from Texas and your restaurant was recommended. We loved our dinner Friday evening so much we did Sunday brunch with some friends there also. The food was delicious(pork chop and lobster shepherds pie) and wait staff were attentive and friendly.
Was very disappointed that when we were seated we were walked all the way through the restaurant out the back door into the cold echoing atrium of an office building next door to Old Ebbitt Grill. Service was ok, food decent overall but just kind of average pup type food. We were there for the history and ambience of Old Ebbitt Grill on a weekend in DC, and spent our dinner staring at a office security guard out in a big lobby like a waiting room.
Nice experience. Good food, value and service. Overall very enjoyable.
We had outstanding service from when we walked in the door. Our waitress was the most genuinely friendly person. She definitely made our visit great. Food was awesome, steaks!
Good selection of beer and wine.
Food and service were wonderful. A very enjoyable experience.
Not a fan of the new modern section of the Old Ebbitt Grill. Would only recommend if they could be sure of dining in the classic section with the better ambience.
Great, classic looking, and not fussy, restaurant. Service was wonderful, jumbo lump crab cake was really good. We ate here the last time we were in DC, and will come back the next time we visit the area as well!
Great dinner with friends. Love the ambiance!
Excellent in every way! Server was outstanding! Food was great and the ambiance was superb!
When in Washington DC, the Old Ebbitt Grill is a must! Food, atmosphere, and service are truly 5 star. Thank you.
very nice to eat out again, the restaurant deserves extra credit for what appeared to be outstanding covid protections, which i appreciate
Love this place
Old Ebbitt has been a favorite of mine ever since I first arrived in Washington DC. It continues to meet or exceed on all levels.
One of my favorite places for a high end meal
Superb experience. Excellent service.
Wonderful dinner “outside” in the atrium.
It was amazing as always. I’ve been going to DC for years and always make it a point to visit OE.
Ambiance is nice but menu and food were just fair.
This continues to be one of our favorites!!!
Went with my boyfriend for our anniversary, and we both loved it! The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and nicely organized, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
This is an historic restaurant that has fallen below its normal superior standards across the board.
Delicious food; great service!
Great place to spend a special occasion! We celebrated our anniversary, and the food was amazing! We had oysters, lobster shepherds pie, and pan seared scallops. Highly recommend!
Everything was excellent as always. I will definitely dine here again and again.
The Maine Lobster was very delicious!
A most pleasant experience for our family
My family and I really enjoyed our dinner. The food was nice and hot. The serving size was worth the money. It was nice and clean. I will visit again when I come back to the DC area. I highly recommend dinner here.
The service was amazing. Thank you for a lovely afternoon meal for my family.
It was a grand feast yesterday for my friend and myself as we dined at the main bar at the Old Ebbitt. We started with our cocktails and a dozen succulent oysters on the half shell. We then moved on to crab cake (described as delicious by my friend) and the trout Parmesan, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The meal was capped with peach cobbler, espresso (for her) and cappuccino for me.
Service, as always was terrific!
The raw bar is the best of Old Ebbitt's offerings. Fish and meats are fine, but nothing special.
Food was excellent, raw bar happy hour was fantastic as well as the brunch menu. Showing up at 3:15 seemed to be the sweet spot. Food was well timed, didn’t feel rushed.
Didn’t expect to sit in the lobby of an abandoned office building with bright fluorescent lighting when I’ve been before and experienced the inside.
We had GREAT service and GREAT food. I love Old Ebbitt because it is a great value. It can be worrisome to go out to eat in this area because you may get caught up in a "tourist trap" with high prices and low quality food. I never fear that at Old Ebbitt. The food is always incredible and the service is even better. I will always recommend their cheeseburger but you really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
