It was just 'okay.' We were expecting something a little more upscale. The food was okay, but nothing out of the ordinary. The entrees arrived just after we started our salads, so the whole meal seemed rushed. The server did apologize for the meals coming out so quickly. We were not offered dessert at the end of the meal. I'm not sure anyone would have ordered it, but it was surprising that it was not even offered. Our server was kind and pleasant. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold. We have no major complaints. The experience was really just blah. I would not return.
We appreciate the attempt to call it fine dining, but it's not. My sons filet was a New York Strip folded in half. His veggies were the frozen kind. All for $35. My husband ordered Bolognese. How do you mess up pasta with meat sauce? They did. He couldn't even eat it. After all that, they wanted dessert. But, no dessert menu. The only thing we appreciated was our server. Super nice and did a great job.
In sum- not worth the money.
My husband ordered filet mignon. It was tough and tasteless. I ordered Mushroom Risotto. It was excellent. Bread was delivered to our table with no butter. We had to ask for butter and when we got it it was frozen. We would not go there again.
Drinks were good.
I made a reservation and I was seated upon arrival. The service was great and the food was good. Plenty of staff, a rare event these days.
Clearly staffing problems—particularly in the kitchen
Great food! Ask for an outside seat if available. Just across the street is where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address!
Arrived five minutes before our 7 PM reservation. Hostess told us that the waitress would not be able to place an appetizer order for 30 minutes. OK. After 20 minutes I asked the waitress for a basket of rolls to go with our bottle of wine. 20 minutes later she told us that the rolls were too stale to serve. Finally, ordered dinner. Turns out they were out of their world-famous onion soup. Scallops with crab meat totally in edible. Second man just barely edible. Waitress agreed and took 50% off of the check. Absolutely horrible dining experience.
Cleaning in front of our table..loud..lots of end of day activity..not sure why it had to occur in front of us but it did. Onion soup was without taste. The pastas were good and warm at service time. Long time b:w soups and dinner service..my husband thought server had forgotten to turn it in. We were only other table in the place so not sure what the problem was..too busy chatting in the bar area. By the time the server asked about whether food was ok, we were done eating.
Very good food. I wish the main dining room was't quite so open - I enjoyed the bar area as the tables are closer, the colors richer.
After waiting 59 mins for our food I finally asked about it. Server came back and told us the kitchen hadn’t even started our meal. We obliviously left.
My husband’s soup was cold and his risotto looked pre-made in mass and re-heated. My pork tenderloin was over seasoned and almost cold. The menu looked promising on paper but was poorly executed. The gentleman that seated us was not welcoming and our server wasn’t friendly either. I overheard another server, who was very caring with everyone she interacted with, that the restaurant was short staffed and that she was helping in the kitchen. While I know staffing is a challenge everywhere, it seems this restaurant hasn’t figured out how to ensure a great experience despite the challenges.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. We tried to be proactive by making a reservation instead of waiting 45 minutes at another restaurant, but after this past experience we would have gladly waited.
It took us 30 minutes to receive our drinks. The bread that was delivered to our table was as hard as a hockey puck. Steak was over cooked (ordered it medium). Hamburger was extremely greasy and the fries were over cooked as well.
Only saving grace was the nice enough waiter. When we complained to him, he was not surprised and even said that we weren’t the only ones who complained about the food.
It’s too bad because the restaurant is nice enough inside and it is one of the only restaurants in Gettysburg that takes reservations. The place has potential but is not living up to it.
We were hoping for a nice dinner but this restaurant is struggling to stay in business. The 3 of us ordered cocktails, 2 were delivered and were not made correctly, the 3rd, a gin & tonic never was delivered. It was all downhill from there. Obviously lacking employees so can’t fault the management.
It was a busy dining room when we got there with only one waitress. We were surprised how well she handled the challenge. Food was good and came rather quickly. Only complaint is we never received points for our dinner which was booked through Open Table. I told the waitress that we had reservations and she went into another room came back out and seated us.
They were out of crab and my antipasto wrap came in a tortilla wrap not the cheese wrap it was supposed to
Can't recommend this one at the moment. I undertand that staff can be hard to come by, but our server did a decent job. The issue was in the kitchen where food was questionable at best. One meal was sent back due to a "concern for safety". We did not reorder. Additionally, the manager then avoided us the rest of the time there, seeming to not want to address the situation. A simple acknowledgement of the issue would have been appropriate. Hopefully it will improve...but this is peak season.
Took 30 minutes for a server to come over after we were seated and that was only after we asked the manager if we even had a server. All the servers complained about being understaffed to customers. They were out of many menu items (e. g., crab, which is in many of the menu’s dishes) but didn’t tell you until you tried to order said items. There’s also no wine/drink list. You tell them what kind of wine you want, and they tell you if they have it. Food was cold and not good. For example, the mushroom and asparagus risotto was just cold, undercooked rice with no asparagus and a few mushrooms; it was nearly inedible. Problem with our bill.
Our meals were a mixed bag. The thyme marinated chicken was quite good moist and flavorful. However, the pasta bolognese was poorly prepared. The pasta was not drained properly and was overcooked. Service was in keeping w/current staffing in restaurants.
Only two servers worked the whole restaurant and did an excellent job! My hats off to those two…I might have quit! Food was very good.
We had the sweetest server, Emily. She was awesome and so was the food.
Emily was an excellent waitress and the bartender was also very helpful with drink selections. The food was on point!!! Overall perfect experience here 👌🏻
This was the first time we dined at One Lincoln. We were very pleased with the food, the seating (as this one one of the few times we have been out during Covid) and the entire team was very nice to ensure were were being served appropriately. We ended up going back a second night!
Crab cakes were delicious! No fillers. Roasted vegetables were plentiful and a great variety. Included Brussels sprouts, my favorite among others.
Too full for dessert so we passed.
The crab cake meal was delicious as well at the peanut butter cup martini for dessert! I would recommend
Excellent food! Pricey but the portions are large.
Food was very good. Service was a bit slow considering there were not many people there, but overall a good experience.
Awesome service and great food
Overall we enjoyed brunch at One Lincoln. We chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful morning. The patio is nicely set up. The traffic noise was pretty bad so if we go again we might choose to sit inside. Nothing the staff can do about traffic. Server was friendly and helpful and attentive while not intrusive. She did have a problem putting in our order which delayed the meal. Also our fruit cup came after our meals which seemed odd. My wife had eggs Benedict which she said was excellent. I had shrimp and grits. Flavors on my dish were well thought out and executed. The shrimp were a bit over cooked otherwise a nice dish. We would eat here again if in the area.
We were a party of 4 for brunch. The restaurant was not crowded. Two orders were messed up - my husband's stuffed french toast was extremely delayed - although his side of bacon came with everyone else's food. Our friend's side of bacon did not come with her main entree but came later with my husband's french toast. They did comp the french toast. The complimentary pastries they served before our meal were delicious.
I met a friend for lunch on Saturday. They seated us early as we arrived before our reservation. My friend has multiple food allergies which they gladly accommodated. The food was excellent. Our waiter Paul was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back.
I really like this restaurant but the young waitress we had on this occasion barely paid attention to us, which was extremely off putting.
Very reasonably priced brunch. Good selection. Food was also very good. Server very attentive. Would happily return.
Great food! Nice atmosphere. Nice location. Service was slow. Price was a little high. Wait staff was friendly and courteous.
This was our first time dining at One Lincoln. It was our anniversary AND valentines day. All in all the experience was a good one although they seemed to be a little overwhelmed (due to the number of reservations??). The service was good but food preparation was slower than it should have been with the limited menu they had. The food was delicious. We had seafood cocktail, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, steak & salmon all of which were perfectly prepared with nice presentation. Our waitress was attentive and appropriately apologetic for the slowness of our food getting to us and offered to take the cost of our bottle of wine off our check. I'm sure we will return to One Lincoln in the future.
Best salad I’ve EVER had. The dressing was to die for. Overall the food was wonderful. The service was extremely slow even though it wasn’t that crowded
The food was ok but I'm not dying to go back. The atmosphere and service was good though.
Window seat overlooking the town square
Terri made the perfect cosmo- she never disappoints
Split a salad since I knew the portions were generous
The scallops were cooked to perfection
Worst representation of shrimp and grits I’ve ever had with watery instant grits and freezer burnt shrimp. My husband had the crab Mac and cheese and barely palatable.
Very disappointed in the meal, paid $170.00 for two people we both had the filet mignon, not sure how it was cooked but it had no flavor and the texture was more like roast beef.
