Birthday dinner with my girlfriend. They are very accommodating if notifying in advance. Our meal was great and dishes got progressively better through the meal entrees as standouts (must try the rabbit). And quality of dishes for the price is great.
Great option in West Humboldt Parl
We celebrated an anniversary at Osteria Langhe. It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant has a great pre-fix menu. For $38 you get three courses. It's a very good deal and the food and service were superb. Thanks to the owner Aldo for making an exceptional Italian restaurant in Logan Square!
Great food!! If there is something on the menu that you're not use to eating, try it. This restaurant doesn't disappoint, can't go wrong with whatever you order. Besides ordering three antipasti our party of four ordered two primi dishes and two secondi which we all shared. Great way to experience the many delicious options they serve. Highly recommended!!
Plin is one of the best things I have eaten!!
The food was fabulous, the staff were friendly, competent and very helpful about wine selection.
Best Italian spot in the neighborhood. The plin is so addicting however 4 oz is not enough to fill your craving. You’ll definitely want to order more. It’s just one of those dishes that you cannot stop eating.
Great execution, really good service.
Food was okay and service acceptable. Nothing wrong but also not exceptional.
What an outstanding experience! I had heard about this spot from several colleagues in the wine industry and decided that I had to give it a try on my recent visit to Chicago. Small, cozy place, a bit cramped and noisy but not to a distracting level. I was able to have a comfortable conversation with my date throughout the evening (although I was well aware of the contents of my neighbors' conversations as well). I had been advised by friends to ask for the reserve wine list and the hostess brought it right away and took the liberty of sending the sommelier, Aldo, for which I was grateful. We had a delightful conversation and zeroed in on a bottle very quickly. Aldo decanted it and saved it for us until we were ready. We began with an apperativo, followed by some bubbles which beautifully complimented the Carne Crudo, Octopus and other small plates. I almost always prefer my sparkling wine in a white wine glass instead of a flute and I was delighted to learn that they serve it that was by default. The Barbaresco came to the table just as we finished the bubbles and, after a 45 minute decant, was in a stunning place and it only got better as the night and meal went on. Risotto came next (my personal favorite dish of the evening) followed by Rabbit, also outstanding. Our server suggested Panna Cotta for dessert which was perfect. Espresso and amaro followed. We left in a bit of a haze but really couldn't have enjoyed it more. This really was a perfect dining experience and I can't wait to come back.
Phenomenal cheese gushers
Celebrated my spouse’s birthday here and had a wonderful meal. We arrived 15 mins ahead of our reserved time but were seated immediately. The service was attentive and helpful but not overbearing. We were lucky to be dining on their trifecta night(Tues) which offers an unbelievable prize fixe for only $38. We followed our server’s suggestions when it came to cocktail, food and wine selections and were not disappointed. This restaurant specializes in the Piedmonte region of Italy where the focus is not on super sized pasta dishes with heavy sauces. Everything was fresh and scrumptious right down to the peas that accompanied my delectable gnocchi starter. We look forward to going back(most probably on a Tues!)
Great Italian food for pretty reasonable price. Go Tuesday for the prixe fix menu!
O, Osteria Langhe how we love you! Tortellini, plin, rabbit, Dolcetto! And such nice people. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant.
The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. This was our first visit, although it had been recommended by several people. The food was great and just the right amount -- we were never so full we couldn't appreciate the next course. We would definitely recommend it and return.
Excellent food. Good service. Great for a special occasion so a date night (but I'd suggest during the week when it's quieter). Appetizers were stellar. I had the pork loin and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband had the prosciutto wrapped rabbit - also excellent. Highly recommended.
Great food. Was disappointed with the single nibble of waygu steak on top of a mound of pasta for $30?... was it A5 straight from Japan? Doubtful because it would’ve said so. The meal was fantastic and the service was great, but I wouldn’t recommend the waygu dish to anyone.
We really only enjoyed the pasta.
We ordered the plin three times successively. Fantastic.
We celebrated our 23rd anniversary here and the food was amazing. It was the best Italian food that I have had in Chicago. It was all so fresh and flavorful, not heavy at all, and definitely not ordinary. True Italian comfort food. The homemade cheese filled ravioli with butter and thyme was delicate and delicious.
Rabbit was incredible. Great flavor & presentation. Octopus & plin also great.
Love their food... so delicious!
The plan had become my favorite!
Food was excellent, as was the wine list. Definitely a different region of Italian food than most restaurants in Chicago. The service was lacking- for example, we were given the dessert menu, and the server didn’t come for our dessert order for 25 minutes. One other thing I noticed- the toilet paper holder in the woman’s bathroom was half ripped off the wall with one roll of toilet paper falling off. I wouldn’t mention this, except our bill for 2 people, before tax and tip, was over $160. You would think they could keep the physical appearance up.
For that price, with the lack of service, I don’t know that we will go back. Unfortunate because the food was so good.
Delicious northern modern Italian. A little pricey but worth it, in my opinion.
Great experience. Food is interesting, nicely prepared and presented. Portions were prefect, not too much. Limited but nice wine list, Staff and service was good and friendly
Food was outstanding. Drinks are creative and balanced. Service was attentive. Fun place for a date.
The food was to die for. Recommend the tortellini! Also have a great wine list. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and just from noting on the Open Table app the hostesses made sure to wish us a happy anniversary and we got free affogato (also recommend) overall awesome and I want wait to go again!
The food was very good and a reasonable value. The staff was very friendly but there were some issues with the kitchen that slowed service to a crawl. The noise level was WAY to loud for comfortable conversation.
Although my wife and I live in Indiana we frequently travel to the city for dinner and recently dined at Osteria Langhe for my wife’s birthday. We are both in agreement that it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. We were exposed to the restaurant via “Check Please” and had heard it was recognized as one of the top 10 Italian Restaurants in Chicago and that accolade is well deserved. Although the menu is somewhat limited the food was creative and ratherly reasonably priced for the quality, creativity, and care which was obvious in the plating. If they have the daily special of Halibut over risotto —- get it ——it is “special”.
We ate here for our 1 year anniversary; it was very nice.
Food lived up to expectations based on reviews I read. Even though we arrived early, the waiter seemed to be too busy to provide good service based on reviews.
The food is always amazing. They do a Risotto special that changes every week, and I always end up getting it even though I want other menu items. It’s just always too good to pass us!
Just. The. Best.
One of the best meals I've had in some time; great wine list, too.
Food is phenomenal, service was excellent, and my experience was positively memorable. Definitely try the plim, risotto, and the ragu.
The atmosphere is hip and cozy without being too much of either. The service is attentive but not overwhelming. Food is inspired and perfectly portioned. The Tuesday prix fixe is one of the best deals in the city. One of the best meals we’ve ever had here.
The ravioli and the pulpo are out of this world, I felt like I was in Italy eating food. Wine selection is great and service is overall good.
Never dissapoints. Some of the best red wine in the city.
expensive ants very very loud. food was fine if a bit salty.
