Cream of Crab Soup
local fresh cream, lump crab, dry sherry, fresh parsley, toasted baguette
sweet potato hash, smoked bacon, grilled zucchini
Shrimp + Grits
Keyes Creamery smoked cheddar, Crooked Creek chorizo sausage, sweet pepper relish, chimichurri
Cheese board was ok. Wine selection & whiskey selection were very good.
Great, as usual. Always a good time
Very good food and service! Nice experience with the wine pairings!
From the moment you step onto the patio it’s absolutely stunning. The entire vibe of the space is wonderful. Perfect music, to go with the well thought out menu, with fresh ingredients.
Well we arrived at our reservation time and were seated right away. It was 25 minutes before we were acknowledged and given water. We ordered drinks, it took another 25 minutes. Very long wait for food , for our server to appear. It was a three hour ordeal. The table next to us arrived after us, was served and left at least 30 minutes before us.
I don’t think we will be going back any time soon. Expensive and the service was terrible.
Always top quality food.
A wonderful evening celebrating my wife's birthday
We have been enjoying Pairings Bistro for years. Every meal is top notch and the service is always on point. I highly recommend Pairings not only for the food, but also for the wine selection.
Butternut Squash soup was wonderful! Blackened tuna BLT was excellent, yummy homemade fries! Excellent service!
A favorite dining experience. Only drawback this time was that they had let their craft beer inventory lapse. We had to reorder 3 times from their beer menu to find one in stock. But overall a wonderful evening.
I had reservations at 6:30 p.m. the ordered the three course meal appetizer didn't get served until an hour after we sat down and then we waited another 45 minutes for our dinner and then had to wait for dessert. It was very loud and noisy and our server was okay. Food was not up to par I've eaten here before and it's been great this time not so great.
Consistently good food and service. Even saw Jon Kohler, the owner helping serve tables and oversee the kitchen around 8 pm on a Friday night which was impressive.
First time dining at Pairings. My wife and I enjoyed everything about our experience. Great food and wine pairings, Katrina was excellent guiding us through the menu and was always there when we needed her. Very enjoyable evening!!
Friendly staff and our server, Brody did a great job of checking on us without being too intrusive. Portobello burger and side salad was excellent.
This is not our 1st visit and certainly not our last. In a post-traumatic world Pairings hasn't lost a step. In fact, their people seems even more focused on giving the best in meal selection, in suggested wine accompaniments, and most especially in service to its guests. We really appreciated the menu, especially the current mix of self-chosen 3 or 4 items and pairings. And though only "outside" dining was available, we will willingly choose it again as no "Fall Chill" was allowed as they have the space set up. Again, I have to complement the entire staff as efficient, friendly and attentive.
Great food, great experience! Will definitely be back!
Server forgot us. Plain and simple. Disappointing given we don't go out much and it was our 10 year wedding anniversary.
We were seated in the outside portion which was comfortable and warm. There was live music which was great but was too loud to have conversation.
Perfect, as ALWAYS! Outdoor seating is warm and cozy!
The place was very clean and nice the service was great, the staff was friendly. I would recommend you to everyone, the food was great and hot the size was just right. It was my first time at the bistro .
We had an 8pm reservation for our anniversary dinner. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. However, we were seated at our table for 20 minutes and were never greeted by any of the wait staff. Other tables around us were being served so I know it wasn't for lack of servers. We were the only black couple in the restaurant so take that how you would like. We got up and left and let the host know why we were leaving. I don't spend my money at places that blatantly show me they don't want it. I'm disappointed because I was excited to try out the restaurant but I won't be back. We left and went to the Charleston and had a wonderful experience.
Great as always. Warm and cozy on a stormy night. Food was outstanding as was the service. We appreciated having a professional waitor who made great recommendations for us.
We made our reservation a week in advance, and we were excited to splurge on ourselves for our 10 year anniversary. We requested outdoor seating, but instead of being lead to a table beneath the comfortably heated patio awning, we were lead to one of 2 tables haphazardly arranged out on the curb. Although there were empty tables beneath the awning, and although I heard management tell the hostess to move us if we requested it, no one came to offer us a change of seating, despite the quickly dropping temperatures. One other couple shared our misfortune, but they had thought to wear coats, which we had not. As we sat trying to decide what to do, we watched as the hostess moved other tables under the awning and seat other customers there. My husband had ordered a beer, but we abandoned our reservation after he was finished. When we went in to pay our $5 bill, management didnt even ask why we were leaving, instead only asking, "oh, were you cold?" They were also unable to apparently accommodate us with any other seating. Extremely disappointed. This establishment did not live up to its reputation, or its extremely pricey menu.
We sat at an awkward table but we had the nicest waiter ever!
Food was delicious. Service was very good and really helpful for one of our party who had gluten-free dietary requirements.
Overall, very good and delicious experience.
I said in a few places when making the reservation it was a special occasion-birthday. It was his 60th. Nothing special for the birthday. Just didn’t turn out special.
Pairings does not disappoint. Great for a special occasion or just a regular Thursday evening!
We have been to pairings a number of times. The last couple of times Jake took care of us. He is great with both food and wine recommendations and is really good with our daughter. This visit was for my wife’s birthday and it was just lovely. The food is exceptional, the ambience is great and the service is super attentive without being invasive. Thanks again Pairings Family.
All three of us ordered off of the prix fixe menu and selected different items. All of the food was excellent, especially the scallops entree. Service between salads and entrees was a bit slow, but the end result was worth the wait. Highly recommend!
Great little find in Bel Air. It was a good meeting point for me from Baltimore and my friends from New Jersey who drove down to see me for lunch. Johnson and Wales-trained chef-proprietor with experience working in Belgium! Nice assortment of fine wines, Belgian influence on the menu with mussels and pommes frites (nicely done pommes frites, I might add), grilled Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly: not too hard, and no harsh burnt taste. The blackened Tuna BLTs on brioche rolls were excellent. Also excellent was the butternut squash stuffed gnocchi. Accompanied by a good bottle of Pinot Grigio, it was a lunch fit for a king. Very thoughtful and attentive service by Brady! We shall return.
Service was great. We had several questions that our waiter patiently answered. The food was delicious and having the wine paired was a great way to try different varieties.
Best restaurant in Bel Air as usual. Andrew is a great waiter!
We went to Pairings for our anniversary dinner with our son and daughter-in-law. This was the second time for the four of us, and it was just as wonderful this time as last. I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. We were inside, but the outside area with its flower pot arrangements and trees looked so tropical and exotic we vowed to eat out there next time we come. They started us out with a flute of champagne to help start our celebration, which was very sweet. Three of us did the pairings menu, I had all white wines which were very good. We started out with the mussels which are served with their rosemary truffle fries. We split the mussels up between three of us and it was tough to finish there was so much. This is a great dish to split among a lot of people. Our table had duck, steak, gnocchi and mahi-mahi. Everything was fabulous. One thing to note. We were there nearly four hours for our meal. I think that was mostly us, lol. The serving staff seem to understand perfectly if you want to take your time or move along. This is a fabulous restaurant, who get their products locally. My husband was so thrilled he got to have Keyes Ice Cream for dessert. I’m not sure why we don’t get in here more often, but we have made a promise to ourselves to frequent this wonderful place more often. It is a great dining experience! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!
We love this restaurant. After a crazy day we went to Pairings to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiles and brought to our outdoor table. Our waiter, Eric, was friendly and very knowlegeable about the menu. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and the perfect portion size. The guitarist was talented and contributed to a wonderful ambience and delightful dining experience. We are huge fans.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals of steak, salads, mussels, soups, and desserts. Great service and food! Very happy!
Best cream of crab soup. Great cocktails. Delicious food and dessert
We had a lovely meal at Pairings Bistro on Saturday night. There was some music outside, which might be a bit loud to sit out front, but it was normal conversation level inside. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. All of the food was very good and we thought a good value (drinks, one course meal, and one entree). Overall a great date night to celebrate a new job and we hope to be back again!
If you have not been to Pairings you were missing out on a very nice dining experience. From the moment you walk in and you were greeted by the hostess and escorted to your table. On this night I sat at the bar where Juan, my bartender and server attended to me. He is so knowledgeable and friendly with always suggestions or wines to try specials for the evening and a great smile! This particular night I enjoyed a bottle of them Coppola Pinot Grigio wine. The best thing is I was not rushed I was able to enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. I ordered the grilled romaine with fried capers as a starter. It was absolutely delicious. For my entrée I did the shrimp and grits with bits of chorizo and again what a delicious entrée. This is a place you should visit any night of the week but on Friday nights they have live music which I was able to hear through the open doorway in this beautiful September night.
Excellent fresh creative cuisine with a wonderful wine list
