What Insiders Are Saying
One of the original rooftop bars in DTLA, Perch has a French-leaning menu and views for days. Put it on your list for your next downtown date.
In town for a conference and did extensive research because there are so many great places to eat. Decided on Perch and sooo glad we did. From the sweet hostess who brought us complimentary champagne after hearing of our travel woes, rain, and traffic to our fabulous server, Malia, everyone was attentive and super friendly. The food was truly exceptional! We had the tuna tartare, the French onion soup, filet mignon, steak frites, and the ribeye special, pôt dé créme for dessert. Every bite was savored. The cocktails were also perfectly executed and the bottle of En Route Pinot noir brought everything together. Don’t miss this restaurant on your next trip to LA - if I lived locally I’d be a regular!
My daughter and I went there for the first time this weekend for dinner and had a very nice experience. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. We will definitely visit again, soon.
The food was amazing went 01/13/19. Loved the live music, it was loud enough to here but did not over power a conversation friendly staff and a nice view of some buildings and the ice skating ring.
I was able to call and move my reservation up to 3 pm. However it is showing up as a no show which is by all means an error.
Everything was great, the view, the music, the food. The only thing was that to go to the bar at the top there was a line, other than that everuthing was great.
The only issue I had was with the waitress. It took her forever to visit our table and didn’t do so frequently enough. I felt annoyed at having to wait so long just to order a drink and then having it take forever to arrive at my table. On the other hand, the food came out very quickly...maybe too quickly, because it didn’t allow for us to actually enjoy each dish the way we were supposed to. Maybe pacing them out a bit more would have been more ideal. Everything was there all at once.
They got our drinks wrong but fixed it by making it on the house, so it speaks volumes about their service. I fell in love with this place and I can’t wait to come back again (when my wallet permits).
Service was fantastic. Food is usually great, but was a little off on this visit. I will definitely be back.
Waitress was not attendant to our needs and drinks arrived well after meal as if she had forgotten. We ordered a $500 bottle of Dom Perignon which was brought indoors after rain and no accommodations were made for adjustments.
Our server, Danielle, was wonderful. We enjoyed the musical talent for the evening. Our seating area was a bit cramped but overall we enjoyed it. Our out of town guests enjoyed it as well.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at The Perch and I am BEYOND happy we did! It was such a beautiful and romantic experience. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Rico, was awesome. He shared his favorite dinner dishes with us and they were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back! I would reccomend dining at The Perch to anyone!
Third time going. Love this place for the ambience, food, service, and professionalism. Of course the parking is what it is for DTLA.
Amazing view, delicious food, courteous waiters, and live music. What more could you ask for on a dinner date?
Great food and service!!! We had an amazing time and the front desk was very accommodating when we arrived early.
Nice views, good food and great service, the rooftop bar is also a good place to relax and enjoy a drink
Their brunch was very cute and very lively! This had been my first time going to Perch and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The food was great and not ridiculously priced which is refreshing for someone who lives in LA. I would definitely recommend it for dates, friendly get togethers and possibly Mother’s Day brunch (what I’m planning on doing).
Great food, great service, great view, great view
I went for my birthday with 5 others and I had a great time!! The waiter was amazing and even brought my friend a new pair of gloves because his hands were cold! My reservation was at 10:15am so pretty much right when they opened, and it was the perfect time because it began to get more crowded after we were seated. The view was amazing ( we took some totally Instagram-worthy pics) and they seated us in the best seats I could’ve asked for! I had the french toast and not to be dramatic, but it was the best french toast I’ve ever had. They even brought be out some ice cream with fruit and a candle for my birthday! I will definitely return and I highly recommend it!
A fun place in an old high rise building in downtown LA. It has charm, style, a bit of mystery (check out the curmudgeon who monitors the elevator). Wines could be curated better but there is something for everyone. The salmon on smoked, pureed eggplant was incredible and seamless with the Greysac. The Loup de Mer was ok but not a showstopper. The various waitstaff were incredibly nice, helpful and available. The views are wonderful of Los Angeles from the 15th floor. The interior room is a "fin de siecle" ambiance and is beautifully done. Some seating on sofas.
I brought my now fiancè here after my proposal for a surprise engagement dinner. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had reservations and then 2 additional people came. They moved us swiftly to a bigger table and didn't miss a beat with the service. The live music was a bonus. I had no idea there would be live music and the singer and her band were PHENOMENAL. The scenery is beautiful. The food was delicious. The drinks were tasty. The service was impeccable. I cannot wait to come back!
Chris was an excellent waiter. We love the food & view.
Great food, service and an outstanding view. I highly recommend Perch. If that isn't enough, the Perch has regular live music and a patio roof top bar. I strongly recommend you give this LA hot spot a try.
Waited one and a half hour despite having a reservation and they didn’t even apologize properly.
Loved it! Amazing views and service. One of my favorite places in Los Angeles. Also the male manager (i can’t remember his name, a tall middle aged blond male) that works there is so professional and nice, he makes sure everything is okay and was so helpful when I was struggling with battery on my phone as they had no chargers, he even offered to get us an uber if we couldn’t resolve the problem, such a gentlemen and nice person. I will def go again whenever I get the chance.
The atmosphere was great! The music and view were wonderful. The appetizer were better than the meal in my opinion. I did not like the Gnocchi at all. I think this place is best for great cocktails, music and appetizer. Skip the dinner.
We had a wonderful time at perch. It is a great place for groups. I met friends from out of town. It is a great environment for intimate conversations while still being somewhere fun and lively.
Dined at perch for brunch on New Year’s Day and it was a wonderful visit as always.
First time here New Years brunch; crowded. Sat outside, very chilly especially w/breeze warmth of the sun was inviting sitting on patio confused why all the umbrellas were opened blocking sunshine. People kept jackets on bundled w/scarves; some needed additional warmth by blankets provided by restaurant. Couldn't turn on heaters/too close to umbrellas. Live entertainment was a wonderful touch. If you sit outside be aware of different areas to sit; under closable awnings on side depending on weather; there's a cozy corner table next to fireplace on patio to be reserved. Inside seating nice with bar scene. Service was on point; manager helping out; we were able to order immediately and served very quickly. Huevos Rancheros very good and French Toast plenty (confused why it's in appetizer section of menu), Crab Benedict delicious. Pot de creme was decadent/rich. Want to come for dinner warmer weather to enjoy patio seating/view better and experience 16th floor bar (21yr up) as well as the drinks. It was just too cold to try this time otherwise we would've stayed alittle longer and ordered more.
I've been here for dinner, brunch, and just for drinks as well. This place never disappoints with it's spectacular layout and views. Service is always great. The dinner I had was delicious, but the brunch was just ok. The tables are crammed a little too close together, so it can be difficult to hear your date, but it is still a romantic spot and also a great spot to meet with friends. It can get ridiculously crowded on weekends at night, as in, there is a line to get to the restaurant level, and another line to get to the rooftop bar, but it is worth a visit. It's one of my favorite spots downtown.
It was over all great place the food vibe and service!
Excellent food, very cool place. Great views of downtown LA.
It was my fiancé’s birthday and I wanted to take him to this restaurant because I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. The service was great. Catrina took very good care of us and was very attentive. Before the day I was called to make sure I was going to attend the reserved date and I called back saying that I was going to. The kind woman on the phone asked what the occasion was and I told her it was a birthday. She then asked for the name of the celebrated and I told her Genaro Castro was the name. She then told me there would be a card with his name on it. The card was never give to us. I was a little disappointed because she took down his name and told me there would be a card.
The server was amazing
Amazing food and view. An absolutely perfect evening!
Perch is great when u have guests in town. Every time I go though I feel as if they are rushing me out for the next guest. My average time is 2 hours with food and drinks. I am not lingering and not ordering. Other than that it’s good.
Perch is a nice place but when we walked in I noticed when the host took my name the two waitress were talking about us when we walked in, they didn’t even want to seat us 🤦🏾♀️ We didn’t get to dress up because we were late on our drive to La but didn’t know attire would matter that we would be judged & all but one cool waitress was able to seat us :) the table we had reserved was sitting in a nice area the sangria was perfect the burger was excellent but the crab cake Benedict tasted frozen & reheated or something it was not fresh but he egg & sauce was on point next time I will try the dinner portion overall I still enjoyed :)
This place is located on the 14th floor of a hotel. It oversees Pershing square and you can get a beautiful view of the city. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting and looking for cute site see locations. They also had live music!
Went here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday! We loved it and had a great time.
