Well the reviews don't lie. This is a wonderful, small hole-in-the wall restaurant that serves as authentic as you can get italian food here in the United States. They even make lasagna the right way -- using just a besciamella sauce. The Service was also impeccable -- Hats off to our server Marco!
Great food and service
Wonderful little Italian restaurant with Great food and nice lively atmosphere. Seating indoors and out. Love the Piccolo Paradiso salad to start. Yummmmm
Excellent quality, well seasoned and prepared food. Pasta was incredible—freshly made and delicious by itself. There were four of us and we all loved our respective meals. Also, for Beverly Hills, the tables were sufficiently spaced apart so that the ambience was fine—not a deafening din. Service was reasonably attentive by grown up servers that approached the table unobtrusively. We will definitely go there again!
Food was utterly marginal, service wasn’t much better. It has gone seriously downhill. I won’t be back.
We were a party of five on March 11. The table was ready for us when we arrived. The restaurant was packed at 7:00 pm on a Monday night, which surprised us. The service was very slow- more than 30+ minutes to take orders for our appetizers. When the appetizers arrived, one was incorrect (not ordered) and had to be exchanged. Another - the Ceasar salad, was reported to be "tasteless". Then, we had another long wait before our entrees were served. I split an order of the Branzino with my cousin -- both of us found it to be very good, very tender, not at all dry - the accompanying veggies were delicious. No complaints from anyone else in the group about their entrees.
The restaurant was noisy -- could only speak with those in my party on either side of me -- had to raise my voice to be heard across our round table. We were among the last to leave, at about 9:45 -- the service improved immensely and of course, the noise level died down.
This is a very popular neighborhood restaurant, with a lovely "mom and pop" type of ambiance. Food is very good. But be prepared for a large decibel level and slow-ish service. Maybe this was an off night - or maybe our party of five was too large to handle. I'd grade the restaurant a solid B for the overall experience, with a B+ for the food, B- for the service, C to C- for the noise.
This is the third time I have taken people to dinner there... we all always leave happy!
Great food, nice place but had to wait for our table a bit too long (got it over 30 min later than we had reserved it for)
Great service and food. My favorite Italian place in LA.
Excellent service. Obviously a very very popular spot with the locals. The restaurant was very crowded and ambience was quite noisy but the food was excellent. I would come here again for the food. It would not be considered a romantic date venue, however, it is fun and a worthwhile experience.
Lovely ambiance, excellent food.. great service!! Can’t ask for more than that!!!
One of my favorite work day lunch spots...It's always delicious and the service is friendly and professional.
Friendly service goes a long way. From the moment we got there to the time we received the check, we were given great service. The food was very good and their wine of the month was one of the best white wines I've ever tried. Not too noisy, so you can carry a nice conversation as well.
Always friendly and yummy
What happened. New chef?
This has been a great choice for years.
I booked a birthday party for 4 and promised a special exceptional good experience. Even have the talk before ordering
Pork special was ‘eh’ heavy sauces uneventful
My Dover sole was actually bad smelly old fish.
Almost made me sick to eat it but I didn’t want to make a scene with my guests. Horrible!
Risotto and pasta dishes got lower marks.
Something happened here.
Service on a Sunday at 630 was frenetic and had to wave down waiter several times.
Unceremonial effort of throwing a single candle on a desert for bday
Will be hard to return. That bad old fish was beyond unacceptable and the prior Paradiso would never have allowed that
If your order the Vongole make sure to tell your server to make sure you have plenty of clams. Two of us ordered and I had 5 tiny clams and my friend had 6. Very small portion as well!
I have been a fan of Piccolo Paradiso for almost a decade. The food, the service, the welcoming hospitality of the entire staff can always be depended on. The only hesitation I ever have is over the question of noise -- I have to try to time my visit to avoid crowds because the restaurant does get quit noisy when it begins to fill up.
I’ve loved this wonderful high end neighborhood Resturant for many years. The food is excellent, the service staff are very knowledgeable and while not cheap, the food is worthy of the price.
I have only one complaint. When I stated going to Piccolo Paradiso the tables were few and far between and you had some privacy. Now the tables and diners are packed in like sardines and very uncomfortable. The banquette was so tight that I was able to hear my neighbors conversation better than the conversation at my own. Just a few more tables and you’ll turn into Mr Chow’s, a restaurant I refuse to return to do to their seating.
Please take out a few tables and make the resturant a more comfortable space. I’d be back more often.
Extremely welcoming host and personal. Everybody very attentive. If your server is busy someone else will come to you the moment you look for attention.
Love this place!!
We got locals only recommendation from friends that live in the neighborhood. This is the kind of recommendation I like. Was not disappointed. Food and service were excellent. Cannot wait to get back to this gem
My go-to for a quiet, relaxing and delicious Italian meal!
It's always a pleasure dining at P.P. It's a gourmet, but comfortable experience for all occasions. We had the branzino & Dover sole following Caesar salad and fried calamari. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend it!
Too crowded and noisy. Layout uncomfortable, service slow, food just okay. Sorry, but it’s what I experienced.
Some of the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy!
Best Italian food in LA. Staff always makes us feel at home.
great service with excellent food and really friendly atmosphere. lots of returning guests
Charming, personable service, as always. Delicious baby spinach (w/pear and walnuts) salad; mouth-watering branzino; perfect decaf iced cappuccino. And our car waiting as we exit, thanks to Robert, maybe the nicest valet in town.
Always a great meal at Piccolo Paradiso. It never disappoints. Wait staff is friendly and professional. Food is always good - from Milanese to pasta. Salads and meats - never had a bad meal and have been many, many times. Guests are a good mix of age and energy. Highly recommend.
lovely lunch. private lovely restaurant.
authentic italian food
this is my favorite italian restaurant on the westside. other than the hostess needing 'smile' lessons, everything is really quite wonderful.
We love this restaurant. The people that work there treat you like family and the food is always cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the branzino. The burrata was out of this world. Always consistent. Always makes me happy to eat there. If I can’t be in Italy this is the closest thing.
PP has a neighborhood feel to it maybe because the front of house staff seemed to greet everyone with kisses. Service was great. My partner’s veal was overdone but my pasta with lobster and crab was excellent. We shared a PP salad which was also first rate. If we lived in BH I would go back.
A lovely place, good food and excellent service. Comfortable.
Last evening, we experienced what was perhaps our worst dining experience ever in Los Angeles. From the moment we sere seated, pretty much everything was wrong. We arrived at the restaurant right at 5pm when it opened, and were seated immediately towards the rear of the restaurant near the bar. Although there were several waitstaff hanging out and chatting at the bar, we were totally ignored for at least 10-15 minutes. Had we not been entertaining guests, we would probably have gotten up and left. Finally, someone came over, took our drink order, and these were delivered promptly and were fine. We told our server that we would like to enjoy our drinks for 10 minutes or so before ordering...big mistake!! The restaurant was filling up, and it took at least 30 minutes to even get our waiter’s attention again. After our first course, it took forever to get our entrees, and during this time we were completely ignored and although we asked the busboy several times to send our waiter over, this was impossible. When our entrees were finally served after a wait of almost an hour, they were all cold and very bad. A chicken entree was totally dried out, and cacio e pepe which can easily be made at home, aside from being cold, was awful...swimming in oil, and with very little cheese which is a key ingredient of this simple dish. No cheese was offered for the cacio, or another guest who had ravioli. Certainly after being at the restaurant for two hours, we were not about to send our food back to be recooked. We asked to talk with the manager, but he was away (no surprise!). We were offered two desserts for compensation, but that was ridiculous considering what we had experienced. We left after nearly three hours, having had our worst LA dining experience ever. Needless to say, we’ll never return!
Good service and good food
I was quite surprised by the reviews after our visit. We chose this restaurant because of the great reviews. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food experience. The food was not spectacular. It was bland and not very good. The prices are not consistent with the quality of their food. If a restaurant is going to have high prices, the quality of their food should be at least good or worth eating. The restaurant is small so when the restaurant is busy the noise level is extremely loud. I did give the service a high rating, as we did feel the service was superb. Our waiter was friendly and on point. We will not return to this restaurant which is unfortunate. The only reason for the overall rating of a 2 was primarily due to the service we received from our waiter, otherwise the score would have been less.
I thought the food was good not fabulous. I asked if the Cesar was creamy they said no but it was so that was disappointing. I would have ordered a different salad. The menu is very extensive. I had picatta chicken and it was a bit over cooked and too saucy. My moms veal was ok. The service was good and the restaurant full. There was no waiting with a reservation. I would try it again.
Our favorite resaurant within walking distance in Beverly Hills. The filet was exquisite. And, as usual, the calamari as a starter cannot be beat,
Amazing Food, Amazing staff! Would recommend to everyone I know! I will be back!
