My family has been dining at this restaurant for generations — my parents loved it, and I’ve continued that tradition for years. The food has always been exceptional. In all this time, I’ve never had a single dish that wasn’t wonderful. Their consistency, quality, and care keep us coming back, and it remains one of the most reliable and enjoyable places to eat.

The menu options were exciting but the food did not live up to the options. My gumbo was lukewarm warm and so was my entree of crab dinner. We ordered oysters Rockafella and Bienville for appetizers but they arrived with our entree and were very hot while the entrees were barely warm. I can only think either the kitchen forgot our appetizers or the server forgot to order them as an appetizers. They were not tasty anyway. Very disappointed. Lovely rustic restaurant but that was the best of our experience.

Our waitress was fabulous! We were seated near the window where my granddaughters could watch the racoon’s antics, and the food was outstanding!

They knocked it out of the park again and I'm becoming addicted. Between my wife and myself we had the fried catfish appetizer, seafood gumbo and redfish extravaganza. The fish was perfect and the gumbo was delightfully rich and flavorful; the stock for this gumbo is phenomenal. The redfish was a standout in that it was very fresh and expertly prepared. The portion size was also excellent. If you have never experienced an "old school Cajun restaurant" (and I mean that in the best possible terms) you owe it to yourself to have a meal here. The adorable racoons outside only add to the charm. I can't wait to return next weekend. I would add that for Friday and Saturday, reservations are a good idea.
